Rafael Nadal has won Roland Garris for the tenth time — how amazing!
Our champ went head-to-head against Stan Wawrinka and emerged a champion. The final result was 6-2, 6-3, 6-1.
Rafa is the first man ever to win a major title ten times, taking his Grand Slam total to 15. He extended his incredible run at Roland Garros to 79 wins and just two defeats in the last 12 years.
Rafa:
It was an incredible win, this win, this tenth win, is very special. Thank you very much. I’m very emotional, I’m sorry my French is very bad.
I play my best in all events but the feeling I have here is impossible to describe and you can’t compare it. The nerves and adrenaline I feel on this court is impossible to compare. It’s the most important event in my career.
When the ATP rankings are issued on Monday, our champ will climb to No. 2.
Cheers to Rafa!

The way I look at it, Federer and Djokovic copped out to avoid the Rafa Steamroller!
Vamos Rafael!
So HAPPY !!!
VAMOS RAFA ! YOU ARE THE BEST !!!
YOU ARE MAKING HIS10RY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so emotional watching Rafa win the French Open for the 10th time. What an achievement. The presentation was exceptional, especially having Tony Nadal stand beside Rafa. Congratulations to Rafa & I wish him a lot more success in 2017.
Congratulations Rafa!!! So humble, so much fight, so much charisma. You’ve met your date with destiny. The king reigns supreme in all his glory! After all the ups and downs over the last two years with injuries and confidence issues, you deserve this trophy so much. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
The commentators said Stan was tired after the Murray match, but even if he wasn’t, the way Rafa has been playing this season, there was no way Stan was going to penetrate his defence. Rafa has improved his backhand, serve and depth of shot out of sight!
What a lovely montage of all his victories and it was really moving to see his Uncle Tony present him with the trophy and both standing side by side. Credit also to Carlos Moyà who encouraged Rafa to play outside his comfort zone and be more aggressive. I’m so emotional and, like all Rafa fans, I’m so happy today! Rafa has the momentum now going into the grass court season so the rest of the field had better watch out!
I wish the pundits out there would give Rafa all the credit he deserves. To me, this feit stands above Federer’s and they should finally consider Rafa as being at least on the same level in the conversation of the GOAT!
lorna,
Most of these pundits are anti nadal pro federer fans especially pat cash. So dont expect any credit from them
Mjus, of course you are right. The sports media are so biased towards Federer, but It’s just sickening and tiring to hear them go on and on and on about how god -like Federer is. Very sycophantic! Maybe that’s why he’s a little arrogant at times. It was great to hear that Jo Durie is in Rafa’s corner, saying how much she loved him!!!
Hi Lorna – Rafa has to be considered as the GOAT. He has achieved something today that may never be surpassed. It’s a different thing to Roger’s 18 slams entirely – someone could beat that in the future BUT 10 at the same major – unlikely. I agree with all you say.
Stan said he never had a chance. I feel for you, Stan.
RAFA DECIMA ROCKS
Come on, does anyone have the HD quality photo of “Bravo Rafa” in the ceremony.
I have been searchin everywhere…
I saw a good photo on the independent site if thats any help. If you Google Rafael Nadal, the independent article is there with that photo.
Have you found it? Is it the one of him in a jacket that reads “Brigade?”
Margo I think it’s the one saying bravo rafa which was spread out in the crowd during the ceremony. It was next to another that was spread out saying RG10. They were both spread out covering the crowd but were professionally made. Quite amazing. If it’s that one, it’s in the independent article with a load of other photos.
Bravo! Well done champ! Enhorabuena!
