Rafa on playing Fognini:

I know him very well and he knows me very well.

We played a few times and he’s beaten me a couple of times, too. It’s a tough match.

He’s playing well, so it will be a good challenge. I need to play my best, keep playing aggressive like I did today and hope to have my chances.

Rafa leads his FedEx ATP Head2Head with the Italian 7-3, but the pair has split their past six matches. Their previous encounter in Miami was a one-sided affair, with Nadal recording a swift 6-2, 6-2 win in their 2014 fourth-round clash.

  1. Yes I think we all are from what was said before – but I’m going onto the latest thread vy as this one has lots of posts. See you there maybe?

    • Sure, Susie. See you there. I’m watching Rafa’s post-match interviews now, espn + skysports versions. 🙂

  2. Vy, maria siberia usually (but not always) gets the outcome right but her scoring is not always correct. Once you get that, you can usually roll with her. Lol. Maria siberia – please have another look into Sundays result please – otherwise we will just have to see. Hmmm

    • Susie, not that I’m bragging or proud of it but more often than not I usually predict it right too. But of course the heart doesn’t always agree with the head, so being right has only pained me even more for quite many times. The latest, AO17, comes to mind… Still painful at merely mentioning abt it. 🙁

  3. Oh maria siberia – it’s great that you predict nick is gonna win tonight but I beg you – please have another look at your crystal ball and say that rafa will beat him on Sunday!!! You may have been mistaken due to too much mist perhaps?
