Rafael Nadal will not play at Wimbledon because of the wrist injury that forced him out of the French Open.
Our champion initially felt pain in his left wrist at the Madrid Open last month but it worsened at Roland Garros and he withdrew ahead of his third-round match.
Rafa wrote on his Facebook page:
Hi everybody. I’m sad to announce that after talking to my doctors, and receiving the results of my last medical revision, I won’t be able to play at Wimbledon this year.
As you can all imagine, it’s a very tough decision, but the injury I suffered at Roland Garros needs time to heal. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to join in the pre-tournament event The Boodles at Stoke Park that I attended in previous years.
Thank you all for your support, especially my fans. Your kind messages mean so much to me.

I don’t want to watch Wimbledon now as you will not be there. However, you wrist needs to heal, and I know you are doing the right thing. I became very interested in tennis because of you and hope to see you healthy soon and competing in everything including the Olympics. I pray for you. Vamos, Rafa!
Sad news! But, we will wait, so Rafa! take time until
you feel enough.
Looking forward to seeing your great tennis again.
Rafa’s tennis has encouraged me so much when
I had cancer last year. I am OK now,
You are my HERO!!
You are number one champion in the way you live your life, as well as on the tennis court, Rafa. Live well. You are always in our hearts.

I’m sorry to hear that too bad.Take care Rafa your left write.I have been always waiting you.
You are missed and will be missed in Wimbledon. Get full recovery and be ready for Rio.
It’s sad because Rafa was having such a terrific comeback on clay this season.
However, It’s better for Rafa not to return until he is fully recovered. He has so much to
enjoy while he is healing; his family, girlfriend, friends, yacht, and tennis academy to name but a few. Of course I will miss all the excitement he creates in competition. But I’ll gladly
await the return of a 100% healthy Rafa when it happens. Until then, Rafa have a great summer!
.
l hope you get better soon rafa, will be in mallorca on the 25th june hope to have a look at your acadamy,do as the doctors tell you vamos rafa your biggest fan glennis in the lsle of man.
Lucky you! Please tell them how much Rafa is loved by his fans.
Speedy recovery Rafa , and Hope that you can play tennis again soon. Tennis without you is not fun anymore
Sorry you can’t compete at Wimbledon. Get healthy. I miss your tennis!
He should just quit completely and we will remember him as the great tennis player he WAS
Neruda, Some things are best unsaid. He will be back
Why? Isn’t that his business? He shouldn’t live the life he enjoys while he can – for himself and his fans?
Sadly, I would have been surprised if he was playing. I hope that some good might come from his time off. I am trying to find something positive out of this situation. I know Rafa will enjoy his summer on his new yacht.
I hope you can be able to make Rio
