Watch the Trailer for Rafa, the New Rafael Nadal Documentary on Netflix (Out May 29)

Behind the trophies and records, there’s a side of Rafael Nadal rarely seen. Netflix has announced Rafa, a four-part documentary series premiering May 29.

The series follows Rafa’s final ATP season in 2024, using unseen footage and close access to him, his family, and inner circle to reveal a more personal story. It traces his journey from childhood to comeback, highlighting not just his success, but the physical and emotional battles—especially his ongoing fight with injuries.

Featuring voices like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and John McEnroe, the series offers a deeper look at Rafa’s impact on and beyond tennis.

“I am not a winner. I am a competitor,” Rafa says in his mission statement that opens the documentary. “What always motivated me is the desire to keep fighting.”

“Rafael Nadal faces the end of his stunning career and long-term home in tennis’ Mount Olympus with just one thing in mind: one last triumph,” Netflix said in a statement accompanying the trailer. “His final foe isn’t a competitor, but his body.

“We will accompany him in his long goodbye and, for the first and last time ever, he will share the intimate highs and lows that have turned him into one of the biggest athletes of all time.”

What do you think of the trailer? Are you looking forward to Rafa?
