Wimbledon is over, and it seems like the tennis world just needs some new stories. The big one from earlier today is that Alexander Zverev is expected to join forces with Toni Nadal, Rafa’s former coach and uncle, as he looks to reset for the upcoming North American hardcourt swing.
A video has surfaced showing him training at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, with Toni watching closely. Reports say that if things go as planned, Sascha might even receive guidance from Rafa himself in the future. While Sascha is currently coached by his father, it remains unclear whether he’ll continue with him as part of the team or replace him entirely.
This story seems almost unbelievable to us, especially since Rafa was recently asked whether he’d consider a coaching role in retirement and his answer was a clear no.
It’s too early to think about this kind of stuff. I just need to organize my life. Right now, I don’t see myself in any project like this, but I don’t know how life is going to be in one, two, three years.

Also, as we all know, his wife Maria Francisca Perello is pregnant, and in a month, their family will grow by one, so there’s little chance he would put family aside for a mentoring job with Sacsha.
We’d all love to see Rafa in a coaching role, but definitely not with Sascha. No matter how much Rafa may appreciate the German tennis star, Sascha’s image is still overshadowed by past domestic violence allegations (even though the case was settled out of court and didn’t result in a conviction). That’s something reporters would absolutely ask Rafa about: why, of all players, he chose to mentor him.

This is a matter for Toni Nadal, thus far.
In saying this – I draw attention to a line in the Bible ” let he, who has no fault cast the first stone”….
Even having Zverev at Rafa Nadal Academy and proudly promoting it all over their social media is something I don’t approve of as a fan.
