22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has been voted as the ATP Tour Fans Favourite for 2022, ending the streak of the now-retired Roger Federer, who had won the award the last 19 years in a row from 2003 to 2021.

By winning this year’s fans’ favourite title, Rafa has now also won in every single player category at the ATP awards, having previously been named the Newcomer, Most Improved, Comeback player of the year, won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award and named the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year. He has also been crowned the year-end No 1 five times.

I thought Rafa would win this, but you never know for sure. Rafa now has the full set of ATP Awards starting with Newcomer of the Year. Rafa is so humble and charming as always. My only wish is that he remains healthy for all of 2023.

I’ve been voting for Rafa for years to win this but never gave up hope when Roger won in all those years…I am so glad that Rafa finally won this award this year! Rafa is the best sportsmen ever and very humble and gracious…that’s why we love him so dearly!

I beg to differ. This award is very difficult to win, perhaps harder to win than a grand slam title. You need to be loved and respected everywhere around the world to win it. Rafa looks so genuinely happy to have won it. It is fitting that Roger “passed the torch” on this award to Rafa especially after the send off at laver cup in Roger’s final official match of his career. Rafa totally deserves this award! We love him!!!
