    • I thought it was a strange combination Tracy Austin and Pam Shriver two American women commentators. I think they just wanted Tommy to do a better job than to be double bageled. I know Pam Shriver doesn’t care for all of Rafa’s idiosyncrasies especially him tugging at his shorts… it drives her nuts.

      • We all will have our favorite[s] but when it comes to sport commentators I feel they should leave their preferences home. Comment equally on plays/kicks/shots or whatever is being played, so that those watching [fans, et al.] can’t tell who the commentator’s favorite is. Is neutrality possible, I don’t know.

  1. Once again, Djokovic just couldn’t handle Vesely. Congratulations to Medvedev who has broken the stranglehold of the “Big 4” by becoming the first new no.1 since 2014.
Is this the beginning of the tennis new world order? Probably, but Rafa just keep doing what you’re doing. Good luck later on.

  2. In the other part of the world, Djokovic has been beaten by Jiri Vesely in straight sets to increase his H2H lead to 2-0. Vesely played a great attacking game by receiving all second serves from Djokovic inside the baseline. Vesely also attacked during the rallies while playing mostly inside the baseline. This strategy has always worked well for most of the players against Djokovic.

With Vesely serving for the match now, we are going to have Medvedev as the new World No.1 on this Monday.

      • Rafa had to work extremely hard in the second set, but he got it done in straight sets.👏
Good luck Rafa against the new World No. 1 next.🍀❤️

      • He sure did, Mimi. I thought it was going into a third set or that it would be another marathon tiebreaker a la Rafa vs Medvedev.

BTW, Medvedev said he will be looking for revenge. There’s a really nice write-up about him on the ATP website.

I hope he embraces being #1 and learns how to deal with a hostile crowd. Hopefully he has shed all the sad feelings from his loss to Rafa at the AO.

      • Revenge? US open or AO? Just kidding.😅

I will check it out, thanks, Margo.🙏

I hope so too. I also hope the crowd will be nice to our new World No. 1. He works hard and deserves it. Congratulations to Daniil!👏🎉
