Rafa will be seeking revenge for his loss to the Greek in this year’s Australian Open quarter-finals, when Tsitsipas became only the second player to defeat Rafa from two sets down at a Grand Slam.

Our champ has won all 11 finals he has reached in Barcelona. He dominated the tournament in his home country from 2005-09, 2011-13, and 2016-18. He lost in the 2019 semifinals to eventual champion Dominic Thiem. Last year the event was not held because of the coronavirus pandemic.

GOOD LUCK AND VAMOS RAFA!

  1. I will always want Rafa to win but like he said one day he will stop winning. I felt bad for Tsitsipas he looked very sad. He is going to be winning shortly… but not yet Steffano not yet! Rafa had more work to do!

  2. Berrettini and Karatsev also went into a third set tiebreaker. Berrettini wins 6-1, 3-6, 7[7]-6.

  3. Come on Rafa! The first set is in the bag, but you still have a lot of work to do. Stay calm and focused.

  4. Djokovic was short of his best tennis, and afterwards he revealed he was suffering some health problems in the third set of the match.

“He [Karatsev] played fast, the way he knows,” Djokovic told reporters in Belgrade. “I expected it.

“I started well, but there were many different factors [such as] decreased concentration, physical fitness, and health.

“In that third set, I played most of the time with dizziness. I was really sick, and I had an opponent who pressed me.

“Probably if I analyzed the whole match to know more, it all came down to a shot or two.”

Excuses, excuses. He is really something else.

My take on this is, IF he was not feeling well, he could be suffering from his past COVID infection. If that’s the case, he’s in trouble. And he should get the vaccine because people who have contracted COVID and recovered don’t have a naturally occurring strong antibody defense, according to the data collected.

    • I agree – a catalogue of excuses. I didn’t see a problem when he was running down the balls. If he’d won it would have been a different story.

  5. Good luck today Rafa vs Stefanos. I was hoping for a Rafa vs Diego final but I’ll take what I can get. Please Rafa, no lapses in concentration. Get winning.

    RAFA ROCKS BARCELONA

  6. Yes,you did not let up the second set!!!!Good!!!!! pretty aggression all around. Much more solid serving. The net can be yours tomorrow!!!

Be the Rafa you know to be!! Vamos, man!!!

  7. Congrats Rafa…. Best match of the tournament for you, other than a few hiccups here and there, you played a very solid match.

Bring it to Stefanos tomorrow. He might feel confidant in his game but no one goes in the ring with you and feels that they’ve got this…. That would be very dangerous for them…

Tomorrow…..stay strong, stay focused… Take it to him and you will raise the trophy!!!

    VAMOS RAFA!!!!
