World No. 2 Rafael Nadal will begin his quest to win a record 21st Grand Slam championship title against 56th-ranked Serbian Laslo Djere at the Australian Open on Tuesday. This will be the first meeting between them.

Date: February 9, 2021
Match time: Rafa is third match on Rod Laver. Around 3 PM AEDT local time / 11 PM EST – New York, Montreal / 4 AM GMT – United Kingdom / 5 AM CET – Spain, France, Germany, Italy. To convert to your local time, use this website.
Rafa’s preparations have been hampered by a back injury that ruled him out of the ATP Cup, with the Spaniard admitting on the eve of the season’s opening major that he had been “suffering” for over two weeks.
Since that first appearance at Melbourne Park back in 2004, he’s reached the final on five occasions, winning it all in 2009, when he famously ousted a tearful Roger Federer in five sets, losing four finals in the time since (2012 and 2019 lost to Novak Djokovic, 2014 lost to Stan Wawrinka, and 2017 lost to Roger Federer).

5 am. in Germany – a tough time to watch, but coffee will help😉
4 am here in the UK! Luckily, I’m working from home (the only good thing about the nightmare virus situation), so no-one will notice if I doze off in the afternoon 😉 .
RNF, is there any way to correct the number of times Rafa lost the AO final to Djokovic? Thank you.
Sorry. Just did it 🙂
Thank you RNF.
You need to check your facts. He lost one final to Wawrinka, and one to Federer.
Thank you 🙂
