PHOTOS: Rafael Nadal beats Benoit Paire at Rogers Cup in Toronto

Rafael Nadal has progressed through to the third round of the Rogers Cup after he defeated Benoit Paire.

The world number one, who is a three-time winner of the Canadian tournament, needed 75 minutes to secure a 6-2, 6-3 triumph in Toronto.

Our champ broke the world number 55’s serve on two occasions during the opening set to move closer to to the last 16, but the second set was anything but straightforward, with six consecutive breaks of serve.

Rafa will now play the winner of the match between Marton Fucsovics and Stan Wawrinka on Thursday.
