Rafael Nadal has won Roland Garris for the tenth time — how amazing!
Our champ went head-to-head against Stan Wawrinka and emerged a champion. The final result was 6-2, 6-3, 6-1.
Rafa is the first man ever to win a major title ten times, taking his Grand Slam total to 15. He extended his incredible run at Roland Garros to 79 wins and just two defeats in the last 12 years.
Rafa:
It was an incredible win, this win, this tenth win, is very special. Thank you very much. I’m very emotional, I’m sorry my French is very bad.
I play my best in all events but the feeling I have here is impossible to describe and you can’t compare it. The nerves and adrenaline I feel on this court is impossible to compare. It’s the most important event in my career.
When the ATP rankings are issued on Monday, our champ will climb to No. 2.
Cheers to Rafa!

Both players played some beautiful shots.
But, like Stan said, he never had a chance against Rafa playing the way he was playing. Rafa outshot him, out maneuvered him, and simply sent him packing.
The bewildered look on Stan’s face said it all. It was as if he couldn’t believe what Rafa was doing to him. Or, he was thinking “just what I expected from Rafa.”
Stan also made mistake upon mistake. Look at his unforced errors. I thought he was getting a second wind but it just didn’t happen.
Rafa played today like the champion he is . I said the best was yet to come and today is proof of that.
DECIMA RAFA ROCKS
Congratulations Rafael Nadal… King of Clay doesn’t cut it anymore. Can’t say God of Clay because that would be some blasphemy right there, and I don’t feel like getting struck by lightning anytime soon.
Stan never stood a chance. Some said he was tired. But no, Rafa outclassed him by miles! Rafa was tired against Federer in the AO final due to the match against Dimitrov… but he came correct to that final and gave Federer a run for his money. Today, Rafa was just in a class of his own.
Enjoy some rest, soak in what you’ve achieved Rafa. You deserve this.
Rafa’s long-favored No. 9, traditionally worn by strikers, will have to take a back seat to his No. 10.
The ecomiums keep pouring in. The New York Times has already written a lengthy article on Rafa’s époustouflant and AMAZING achievement.
NEW YORKERS FOR RAFA
Love the photos – absolutely gourgeous 😍🤗❤️🏆 You’re sparkling Rafa – so happy for you 🌟☀️😘
Very cute the one with Rafa hugging his trophy 🤗🏆💕

super happy ….congratulations rafa for an incredible achievement winning 10 french open title u deserve many more grandslams and u will definitely will
i am sure everyone had finger in mouth when match against thiem and stan finished because everyone expected a different match but u produce some incredible play in this 2 matches that why u r rafael nadal
i mean winning grandsalm w/o loosing a set is such a dominance of u……
i look the final was a exhibition of majestic rafa…….it was a knock out punch delivered very strongly……….
u really deserve some vacation …rest…… enjoy!!!!!
u have given such a fantastic moments to ur fans and we wil see many more from u……. thanku rafa
Congratulations nadal and your team with winning roland garros. La decima is in the pocket and you restored order at the French open. I was nervous because of the history of wawrinka in grandslam finals. I started relaxing after you won the second set because i knew there is no way stan could come back.
You made history. Nobody ever is going to win a grandslam ten times. This is a record for the ages and will never be overturned.
To all the nadal fans who are celebrating. I can not express enough how important this victory was for nadal. This grandslam title narrows the gap with federer to 3. For nadal this season is now already a success. Everything that comes next is a bonus. This victory is also a enormous confidence booster because he played this tournament fabulous. He can focus on the rest of the season. He can focus now on grass where he can play relax and with no pressure nobody will expect him the favourite since he hasnt played well in london for 6 years. He has no points to defend.
This makes him very dangerous and according to mats willander he has a chance of catching federer when it comes to grandslam titles.
Federer is going to regret skipping the clay court season and allowing nadal to build his cofidence.
Oh I so agree with you mjus about Roger and his possible regrets. Rafa has 10 French opens – Roger has not got that at Wimbledon even. Plus rafa is now no2 in the world. I would live to see them play against each other now – on any surface.
What a brilliant accomplishment! You are EXTRAORDINARY.
Congrats🍀🌸🍀🌸🌸💚🌈🌈
Rafa might think his french is very bad but his tennis certainly speaks the universal language of : Simply Perfection.
What a mangificent performance today against Stan who just had no answers for the onslaught of Rafa’s superb defense and offense. It was such a joy to watch my favorite
player’s skill, determination, grit and relentless delivery of endless winners from each wing, left and right on display. Not once did Rafa take his foot off the gas.
I also loved the tribute ceremony to Rafa’s 10th FO title. The special moment he shared with his Uncle Toni was just priceless, moving and so well-deserving.
Enjoy your la decima celebration with your wonderful family and team. Bravo, Rafa!
.
Lovely tribute Diane
Nicely written Diane 😊

Hi Rafantastic,
