Being at the semifinals is something that a few days ago I wouldn’t even imagine. I don’t even know how things are going so well, because I didn’t do any preparation for the tournament, but I’m playing with a great attitude, fighting hard for each point, fighting to the end.
Delpo on playing Rafa:
He is the next opponent and he is the favourite to get to the final and get the medal, but I am so glad with my success and I will try to be 100% or to be in good shape to be competitive.
The two have met 12 times before, with Rafa leading their head-to-head 8-4. Del Potro has lost four of their last five encounters, but did beat our champ in their last meeting at 2013 Shanghai, while the pair are locked at 4-4 when it comes to meetings on a hard court.

Just watched the doubles final again on catch up WOW! I have never seen Rafa so animated . Their reaction at the end was so beautiful and it’s just shows how much it meant to them both . I could burst with pride and am privileged to be one of Rafa’s fans. I hope we will be seeing this brilliant twosome time and time again. And as one half of a great double act once said “To Infinity…And Beyond”

I don’t know guys. As much as i hope for a win, i really think that Rafa coudn’t get over this mountain. Delpo ‘s forehand is too fast. He is getting better and better. The only way Rafa can damage him is to find back his forehand cross court to attack his injured backhand which is difficult when seeing him play lately. His left wrist is still bandaged by the way.
Anyway, good luck Rafa. If you can pass this round, i believe you can beat Andy Murray for the third gold.
Also Delpo’s serve is massive…I was always worried when Rafa had to play him before his wrist injury!
