Rafael Nadal Strips Down to His Underwear in New ‘Tommy Hilfiger’ Ads [PHOTOS, VIDEO]

Rafael Nadal, the new face and body of Tommy Hilfiger underwear, takes it all off.

Beginning this fall, Rafa will be seen topless, sporting nothing but a pair of boxer briefs in billboard ads around the world for the all-American brand. As part of his two-year contract, our champ will also be the face of the brand’s new men’s fragrance, TH Bold.

Tommy Hilfiger on Rafa as brand ambassador:

Because we’re so global now, Rafael Nadal resonates globally in most countries in the world. He also looks amazing in the underwear and the clothes. He’s not doctored up, that’s the real guy.

Rafael embodies an effortless sense of style that exemplifies and reflects our brand spirit – he’s confident, fun and cool.

Rafael Nadal:

I’ve known Tommy and his family for years. When he approached me for the collaboration, I was very excited to work with my friend and one of the world’s most renowned fashion designers. I’m honored to have this opportunity to collaborate with such an iconic American brand.

Working with Tommy is a fantastic experience – he’s always got a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He’s a very special person with great taste and an eye for design. He always knows what looks best and is good at giving style advice.

I’m just wondering if anyone thinks this being run before say nine or ten p.m. is in poor taste. Hey, I’m a 52 year old man who grew up in the 80s…in metal bands…not a prude. But hey, we’ve got a shot of this guy starting to pull down his drawers, showing much more of the netherregions than should be shown in the middle of the day, and then a great shot of his ass through a nearly transparent towel. Come on to the networks and Hilfiger for not being just a bit sensitive to parents who don’t want their kids exposed to this kind of stuff yet. I used to watch the baseball and football games with my 11 and 12 year old daughters, but I can’t anymore. I have to draw the line somewhere, and don’t want them seeing a nearly nude man every commercial break. So seriously, is it just me? I guess posting this comment on this guy’s website will put me in the minority, but all I ask is that you think about it for a few minutes before you hastily call me a prudish old man, and all that shit. This guy is great looking, has a perfect body, the ad is playful, and I don’t mind it for adults, but I don’t want to see it on while I’m trying to watch TV with my young daughters. YOUNG being the key word.

Is this the life that Nadal says ”…is more than Tennis.”?
But he forgets hastily that it is Tennis that gave him such a fantastic life in the first place. Without Tennis, probably nobody would know Rafael Nadal.
It is Tennis that has made him world-famous, so no other life can be bigger than Tennis, except ofcourse, if he has no real motivation to PLAY and WIN matches anymore.
As it is, I’m tempted to believe that the latter is true: No motivation to win.

You obviously don’t know a lot about Rafa do you. He has done COUNTLESS endorsements for companies throughout his career – this is nothing new. And besides, is Rafa not allowed a life outside of tennis? He’s still practising every single day, so who are you to question his motivation?

SO RAFA ENDORSES CERTAIN PRODUCTS AND WHY NOT, APART FROM BEING A GREAT TENNIS PLAYER, DISPITE INJURIES AND HEALTH, SHOULDN’T HE. HE HAS A BEAUTIFUL BODY AND GENEROUS NATURE. HE CARES AND SHOWS IT IN EVERY WAY HE CAN. A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A LOVELY TOTALLY UNSELFISH GUY. MAYBE DEEP THINKER IS SO ENGROSSED WITH HIS OWN THOUGHTS HE DOES NOT KNOW THE TRUE MEANING OF SHARING AND CARING FOR OTHERS. FROM A 71YEAR OLD LADY WHO HAS CARED AND SHARED FOR OTHERS MOST OF HER LIFE.GO FOR IT RAFA, YOUR STILL THE BEST.

Our RAFA will always want to win. Our world would not be the same without him. He has a love for tennis. His values are exceptional on the court and off. His love for his family and his girlfriend of ten years show how loyal he is. Your number 1 in our eyes.

I was surprised how good it is. Rafa is unbelievable because he is a super model without trying to be one. It is soo natural that it is what it makes it so unique. I am not a Hilfiger buyer but definitely I will become one now.

This may actually sound sarcastic….but these ”distractions” are part of the reasons why Nadal is not winning big matches anymore.

Uh, no. And he’s living HIS life. Pls try thinking deep about your own life. lol He’s training hard, as well. But he’s a big boy who has matured. He knows that if he loses a tennis match, it’s not the end of the world. Life is to be enjoyed. Most people, as he knows, don’t manage 3 meals a day. Called perspective. Should he be practicing 5 hours a day? That would work well. Guess he should be in a hotel room crying because he ain’t #1. Or quitting because he can’t satisfy supposed fans.
      Take it off, Rafa. Beautiful.

Rafa did the same thing with Armani in 2011, so it’s not like this is new – ALL major sporting celebrities do ad campaigns. Ronaldo and Beckham did them all the time. Ronaldo still does them to this day. To suggest that’s why he’s losing matches is ridiculous.

That is crazy. Roger does ads. Serena does also. Maria does ads. So then why aren’t playing bad. Your comment does make sense.
