Once again, all eyes will be on Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic when the American hard-court season kicks off next month. Let’s take a look how many points Rafa and Nole have to defend the rest of the year:
Rafael Nadal: 6,025 points

Djokovic has to be the odds-on favorite to finish 2014 with the #1 ranking. He and Rafa both have roughly 6000 points to defend, but the hard court schedule, especially the indoor season, clearly works to Djokovic’s advantage. The one thing that might save the year-end #1 ranking for Rafa is the possibility that Djokovic will be distracted by his wife’s pregnancy and delivery this October. If the birth comes a few weeks early, that could be very problematic for Djokovic’s chances at the US Open. I hope his wife’s delivery goes according to schedule, but hey, you never know. VAMOS!!!

Yes for sure Rafa…..He was playing excellent tennis at WIMBLEDON regardless of losing in the 4th round….it’s the best I have seen him play for awhile….he had four very strong opponents…..I still can’t believe that for the past three years he has exited early, still pains me very much that out of the top four he is the one that had the ‘upsetter draws’ Roger had Stavhosky but Novak and Andy ‘plain sailing’ even though Andy went out this time, but then
he was no where near his best, I believe that if Kyrgios wasn’t there, Rafa would have been in the finals and probably would have won it, he was playing ‘great tennis’ and good enough to give Novak a go, he has always beaten Roger and Andy…Oh the luck of the draw they say? Be interesting to see what they dish for Rafa next year? Kyrgios again, after all he did get Lucas Rosol for the second time, lets hope the US OPEN offers him a favourable draw better then WIMBLEDON who must be into MATCHFIXING against Rafa, what else can all his followers think, haha!….

Rafa had for Wimbledon. It was obvious that ‘the so-called committee’ did not want Rafa to make it through the first 3 rounds, but he DID! Was Kyrgios really a ‘wildcard’?
The lad appears to have great potential, as an upcoming future Top Ten player.
They are all aware that grass courts is not Rafa’s best playing ‘turf’, (no pun intended!)
and that he tends to perhaps as a result, not fair too well against hard serving/hitting opponents on grass….hence the lineup ; Klizan – Rosol etc his fans saw this year.
The fact that he made it to the 4th round, I’m sure some so-called ‘higher ups’ would
have been concerned at this!
Would he have had this draw if he had been seeded No.1 here?? I will be upfront and
say a resounding NO!
THE DRAW WAS MADE FOR: Djokovic, Federer, Murray, ???, in that order.
If you watch the earlier tournament draws this year, as the No.1 seed, as seeded, his draws have also been against strong opponents.
However, Rafa has no need to prove a thing to anyone, as he has prevailed against
many odds to be where he is today..ONE OF, IF NOT, THE GREATEST TENNIS PLAYER OF THE MODERN ERA ( HIS OUTSTANDING RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENTS SHOWS THIS ), WHO NEVER COMPLAINS ABOUT HIS FELLOW TENNIS PLAYERS;
WHO IS THE MOST HUMBLE, HONEST YOUNG MAN AND MENTOR THAT ANY
YOUNG UPCOMING PLAYER CAN EMULATE.
I would be proud to have a grandson of mine follow his exemplary example.

Taking a break and recharging his energy is great and soon it will be back to business . Last night I watched the US Open again and Rafael played amazing tennis as did ND at times but when our champion is on song he is awesome. As Jimmy Connors said ” we need Rafa as no One ” so say all of us
