The Mutua Madrid Open, together with hosts Rafael Nadal and Iker Casillas, had promised a fun filled event at their Charity Day, and boy did they deliver. Stars like Serena Williams, Andy Murray, Carlos Moya, Agnieszka Radwańska and Feliciano Lopez joined Rafa in his bid to raise funds benefiting the Rafa Nadal Foundation and Iker Casillas Foundation.
Team Rafa: Thibaut Courtois, Dani Rovira, Cristina Pedroche, Nieves Alvarez, Andy Murray, Rudy Fernandez, and Serena Williams.
The evening had it all – some football-tennis, volleyball-tennis, and some “regular” doubles tennis games. Rafa played cameraman and taped…something. Guess we’ll find out what soon enough. Football tennis and volleyball tennis followed, with some dancing thrown in during a break. Shy Rafa did not, unfortunately, take part in the dancing. Rafa and Andy played doubles against Carlos Moya and Feliciano Lopez, followed by Rafa and Serena against Iker and Aga. Rafa and Iker also played one another. All in all, it seemed like a great event, with lots of laughs and money raised for some great causes. We will wait with bated breath for cameraman Rafa’s video.
