… While Nadal certainly deserves to be labelled a heavy favourite, Nishikori himself has claimed to be confident in his body and performances, and along with the support of new coach Michael Chang, believes he has a chance to topple to top seed and reach the quarter-final stage. It will be interesting to see if he can give Nadal a run for his money on Centre Court. Prediction: Rafael Nadal in Straight Sets

… “My father advised me – one of the best pieces of advice that somebody told me when I was a kid – to have an invention is very difficult, to copy is easier,” Nadal says now. “I tried to look at the players and see what kind of things I like from everyone. If it was something I liked, I tried to copy. Watching things from different players, you can learn a lot.”

… Comparing players who plied their trade nearly four decades apart is wrought with problems and conjecture. However, comparing contemporaries is a lot easier. And with that in mind, who is actually the better player between Federer and Nadal, the current world number one? Age wise, Nadal has the more time ahead of him to add to his 13 grand slam singles titles – if he wins on Sunday he will join Pete Sampras in joint second behind Federer.
