Rafael Nadal defeated Ryan Harrison in round 1 of the US Open to progress to the second round, where he will meet Brazilian Rogerio Dutra Silva.

Date: Thursday, August 29, 2013

Start Time: Approximately 8:30 pm local time (EDT), 1:30 am BST, 2:30 am CET (see schedule)

Live Stream: Fromsport and ATDHE

Rafa has never played Dutra Silva before. The Brazilian toppled Canadian #2 Vasek Pospisil to reach the second round and he is trying to reach the third round in a Grand Slam tournament for the first time.

Rafa, who won the 2010 US Open and is a 12-time major champion, is undefeated against Brazilians in his career (10-0) and is also 18-0 lifetime against qualifiers in Grand Slam play. He has career 30-4 record in Grand Slam 2R matches, last loss came last year at Wimbledon (l. to No. 100 Rosol in 5-sets). His earliest exit in Flushing Meadows was the 2R in first two visits in 2003 (l. to El Aynaoui) and ’04 (l. to Roddick)

Rafa leads the ATP World Tour this season with nine titles and a 54-3 match record (16-0 on hard courts). A win here would have Rafa facing the winner of the match between Ivan Dodig and Nikolay Davydenko.

GOOD LUCK RAFA!
