It’s well known how strong the bond is between Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud — built on mutual respect, admiration, and years of hard work at the Rafa Nadal Academy. That connection made Casper’s victory at the 2025 Madrid Open even more special — not just for him, but for Rafa and all of us who’ve watched their journey.

On the same Estadio Manolo Santana court where Rafa lifted five titles, Ruud claimed his very first Masters 1000 trophy, defeating Jack Draper 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 in a hard-fought final. It’s the biggest win of Casper’s career and a historic first for Norwegian tennis.
Our champ didn’t miss a beat in congratulating his former student and friend. Taking to X, he posted:
“Congratulations! So happy for you and your team! Well deserved!”
We always appreciate how Casper shows respect — not only to Rafa, but to all his fellow players. And like many fans, we sincerely hope he continues to take care of himself after opening up about his recent struggles with mental health. Congrats from all of us, Casper!

Congratulations to Casper,
I was rooting for you! Look forward to Rome. And then
