Rafael Nadal Jokes About His “92” Trophy While Celebrating Career Titles

It is that time of the year before Christmas when people around the world attend various parties and dinners, gathering together to show thankfulness for all the good that happened during the year and reflecting on cherished memories. At the Rafa Nadal Academy, it’s not just about the players—it’s also about the hardworking employees who ensure everything runs smoothly.

This year’s Christmas dinner was attended by Rafael Nadal himself, who took the stage to share a few words about his Academy: “We always have to strive for excellence and I’m convinced that together we will achieve it. I’m retiring, but that means I’ll be spending more time here. So, anything you need, any doubts you have, any support you require – here I am for you.”

Our champ also reflected on the past year, acknowledging it as both tough and emotional – a period that was long, challenging, but ultimately full of learning experiences that brought moments he could never have dreamed of. He expressed gratitude for life and thanked the RNA team for their efforts, especially in recovering from the two significant floods that hit the Academy this year.

As part of the celebration, Rafa received a trophy with the number “92,” commemorating the total titles in his career. While thanking the RNA team for this gesture, he humorously wondered if there was too much empty space in the museum, joking that they might now be giving trophies to themselves to fill it.

We may no longer enjoy watching Rafa win tennis trophies around the globe, but his sense of humor remains with us. And there’s no doubt that the best is yet to come.

  1. You are teaching us yet, Rafa. How to rise above disappointments and look positively
at the future. We watched you this last year, trying so vigorously to regain your form.
There were heartbreaking moments when your body simply would not match your
competitive spirit. I cannot give up on the sport which you have taught us to respect
and love. But, it is, indeed, missing you. No player at present, has your fire and charisma.
You inspire us with your resilience and sense of gratitude. You have always known how
to prioritize your life; tennis is a game and only a part of a much larger order. Play on, Rafa, the best is yet to come❤️

    • I do watch Alcaraz when he plays and hope he realises his full potential, because Carlos is extremely talented, bold and dynamic on court and appears to be a very nice young man; but no-one will ever replace Rafa in my opinion. The ATP Tour is just not the same without Rafa and never will be. He was not only a very talented and dedicated professional. He was also tenacious on court and off, despite the injuries that he had to contend with from very early on in his career; and despite his great success on court, breaking so many records and still holding quite a few, especially on clay, Rafa remained humble and very appreciative of the support of his family, friends, coaches and fans throughout. A truly remarkable young man with a radiant smile. I am happy for Rafa because I know he is happy but sad for myself, because I won’t get to see him play professional tennis again.

  2. Once again congratulations on your magnificent career Rafa!👏 Thank you so much for all the happiness and excitement you have given me over the years…you are an inspiration forever.🙏 Enjoy every moment of this next chapter of your life. Stay happy, healthy and funny.❤️
