  1. Rafa is being swarmed by other athletes requesting selfies at the Paris Olympic Village. Many are super excited to see him! Hopefully Rafa practices well solo and with Carlos Alcaraz before the Olympics tennis starts.

    • That’s also the way it will be if Rafa plays the US Open. It will be the general public too, not just athletes. New York City will go nuts to see Rafa again after two long years.

    • Rafa is an inspiration to so many athletes and fans all over the world 🥰. His popularity is boundless.

  2. Rafa was too exhausted to have played with mental clarity and efficacy in the Bastad final. Rafa clearly expects a lot more from himself in that final and expressed his disappointment in his performance. I think this is a really good sign that Rafa unquestionably wants to keep going and elevate his level of tennis from where it is now to a level he can be proud of, and Rafa believes he can do so (or at least try and get closer to doing so) in the coming events. Vamos, we hope to see Rafa continue to improve and reach that elite level of (almost unbeatable) tennis again!

  3. NO CHANCE HE’S NOT AT LEAST TOP 20!!
I could argue for top 10!!
He’s simply playing with an abundance of caution and only looks at ATP events like this as “tune up” for bigger events!!
    Arguably the GOAT 🐐….

  4. It would be so fulfilling and fitting for Rafa to win gold in the Paris Olympics, whether in singles, doubles, or both events! One step at a time, but Rafa has such a rich history at Roland Garros.

  5. Rafa was not happy with his level of tennis in Sweden at the Bastad event. So, he clearly feels he can play a lot better and is intent on trying to do that. Good news is he did not pick up an injury after playing so much tennis in Bastad. We all know Rafa will never give up, so this might motivate him to play tennis for a longer period of time after the Olympics regardless of how well Rafa does in the Paris Olympic Games.

  6. Rankings don’t matter to Rafa any more. Rafa just loves to play tennis and continue to improve and hopefully get back to a level to win consistently. It has become very challenging to do so after nearly two years of injuries. However, he is intent on giving himself a chance to see if his level will improve at the Olympics, even if the results aren’t there yet. Then he will make a decision after the Olympics on his tennis career and future. We love to see him play but the decision will be his entirely. He has nothing to prove to anyone. We know he is one of the best tennis players in history. His 14 Roland Garros titles will stand the test of time, and no one will ever break Rafa’s Roland Garros record except Rafa (if Rafa goes on to win a 15th title there in the future). Rafa provided us fans so much excitement and joy over the last 20 or so years.

  7. Rafa-we hope you fully recover for the Olympics. We are privileged to see each match you choose to play. Your love of the game and your desire to win are undiminished. We know how hard you fought-thank you🙏❤️

  8. Rafa can enter tournaments with wildcards so it’s not important anyway to him is he #161 or #500. All he cares about is to improve his game, but at the moment he can beat some top 50 players, but also struggles a lot with them. Going into Olympics his goal should be winning medal in doubles. But it will be a huge task in front of him.

  9. I believe that at this juncture Rafa could not care or less about rankings. The media does and maybe some in the general public. He seems happy to be able to compete and do what he has lived and loved to do since childhood.
His life is set after 🎾

  10. I am a huge Rafan, but I don’t think Rafa cares about his ranking any more. I was excited to be able to watch Rafa play several matches, but we were also reminded that he is 38. I only want Rafa to retire on his own terms and injury free. Every time we can see him play now is a gift.
