- Rafael Nadal could play for Spain at the Davis Cup even if he is not fully fit, says David Ferrer | Eurosport
Nadal told reporters at the time he will rest for an unspecified period of time before potentially returning at the end of the year for the Davis Cup.
Spain’s Group C campaign gets underway on September 12 as they battle Serbia, Czech Republic and South Korea for a place in the final eight who face off in November.
Ferrer suggests Nadal could make it into his squad this year.
“Possibly yes, for all that he can transmit,” he told Eurosport.
“Nadal even without being 100% is a very special player, who transmits a lot and who is so good on court.
“You can trust him for his ability to suffer and in his tennis.”
- Rafael Nadal’s 14 Roland Garros titles are harder than Novak Djokovic’s 23 Grand Slams: Ilie Nastase | sportskeeda.com
“I don’t think it’s a fight, I don’t think it’s a personal fight between him and Nadal. I don’t see this thing. That’s what happened, right?,” Nastase told Gazeta Sportuilor.
“It could have been the other way around, it could have been Nadal with 23. They’re both there, close to each other. Does it matter now that he took an extra one?” he added.
“It matters to Djokovic, but I don’t think Nadal is jealous of that. Someone else should be jealous of him, that he won Roland Garros 14 times. Those 14 are harder than Djokovic’s 23,” Nastase claimed.
“Just so you know, to win on clay 14 times at Roland Garros?! I don’t think another player is born who can do this job,” the 76-year-old Romanian added.
- Swiatek Delivers Keynote Speech At Rafa Nadal Academy Graduation | ATP Tour
“For the last few weeks, I’ve been looking at one quote at Roland Garros in Paris,” Swiatek said. “On Court Philippe-Chatrier it’s written, ‘The victory belongs to the most tenacious’.”
Nadal also spoke and had kind remarks for Swiatek, “Honestly, for us it’s a huge privilege to have you here today. I know that everybody here at the Academy, the students especially, appreciate your efforts, that after winning Roland Garros you are here inspiring all the kids.”
Swiatek stated that Nadal’s example has impacted her version of “tenacity,” sharing that the Spaniard has been a constant reminder of how persevering and never giving up can make a difference in life.
“I often have the feeling that sometimes when I’m playing or when I’m doing things off court, that I should do them better or I should seek perfection,” Swiatek said. “But this shouldn’t be the sense. We should all focus on the process and giving 100 percent, no matter what you can give, because every day is different.”

Social media related to Rafa:

Come back soon Rafa, We miss you
Lovely to see Rafa smiling and soaking up the atmosphere as a fan at the Mallorca Open, along with his wife and team. Relaxation is the key.
nope
Please see above your comment.
Urgh. Please don’t come up as a double post.
No, he’s not playing. He withdrew at the start of june. The draw will be on the official Wimbledon site on the 30th June after all the qualifying is done.
I see rafa as second seed in the Wimbledon draw. Is he playing?
I hope your health will be ok soon you are such a big star and I like it!!!😊
Totally. He’s just very unpleasant. Aggressive in every wrong way; selfish, he denied his fellow Serbian a chance at an Olympic medal in the mixed doubles because he took a huff after the bronze singles loss; a cheater, when he gets away with cheating then they show it on the big screen and the umpire doesn’t change his decision, he laughs about it openly, completely winding up his opponent; he doesn’t care about spreading the virus around; I could think of a lot more, aggressive has several sub-categories but this post would end up a being a novelette.
I watched the bronze medal match. That third set was disgusting, why didn’t he get a point penalty after two racket abuses? Busta Rhymes was right to question the umpire about that. I’m not taking anything away from Busta Rhymes, it’s the best I’ve ever seen him play. He beat Djokobitch, Djokobitch didn’t play badly and lose as a consequence. Well done, Pablo. I’ve always liked Busta Rhymes, he comes across as the complete opposite of Djokobitch. An honourable, nice, gent.
Bla bla bla Judge on results please. Nadal never won miami, sjanghai, paris indoor and atp finals. Hé only won 4 grass titles in 18 years and only 2 indoor titles in 18 years. How people have considered him the goat is baffling. Hé is the goat on clay but djokovic was more a challenge for rafa on clay then rafa was for nole on grass hardcourt and indoor. I was a nadal fan for 18 years but always judged him on results. I dont have any personal affection or connection for him unlike some of you.
Tennis is a hard sport nadal will be out of the top1000 because hé will lose the points from wimbeldon last year.
Hé murray and wawrinka are finished. Its now djokovic and alcaraz time.
“I was a nadal fan for 18 years but always judged him on results. I dont have any personal affection or connection for him unlike some of you.”
Great. So exactly what do you keep coming back here for if Rafa is such a disappointment to you? Kindly move along:)
This is a Rafa fan site and we love him no matter what… Please understand that and leave. Thank you!
LOL. Get back under your bridge.
Marijnt obviously does not follow tennis very well because no one got points from Wimbledon last year
Yawn. Bored now.
Whenever I get a couple of sentences in to your Copy and Vaste rant about what Rafa hasn’t achieved, I can feel my eyelids getting heavier.
You are pathologically dull. You must realise that, right?
Every post, the exact same bore fest.
From now on, if I have insomnia, I’ll just read your posts, two minutes or less later. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Rafa is most likely very eager to be back in competition again but he surely must know what’s at stake for the long term.
Healing is priority number one. May he be up to the challenges if he decides to play. If 2024 sees Rafa in a draw, I will be cheering for him as I always have.
Good luck Rafa, your fans support you no matter what.
As I recall Rafa’s surgery was on June 3. So it hasn’t been three weeks and people are speculating on when he will return. I suppose that’s just a measure of how much the world misses his presence on a tennis court.
Rafa’s Barcelona physician is quoted as saying that Rafa will be evaluated at six weeks. Let’s hope for a good report and then wait until after the U.S. Open before we start asking questions.
I don’t expect that Rafa will see competition this year. But I would be so happy to hear that Rafa is once again hitting on the practice court.
Rafa is incomparable:) Rafa’s biggest obstacle is his body, and yet he has won 22 GS titles!!
In 2013 US Open final Rafa figured out Djoker and won that wonderful match. He then tore through the AO 2014 draw, dismantled Federer in the Semis and got injured against Stan in the final.
Rafa is simply the best. He may not pick up a racquet again and I’ll be fine with that. Who else do you know that turned a 4% chance of winning a GS final, into a 100% success? Rafa’s feats will always be legendary.
The naysayers, kindly head over to the fan site of your true favorite and worship him there instead of hanging out here spouting nonsense:):) Roof guy is an amazing player- but he can never walk a mile in Rafa’s shoes:)
👍
LOL! Every Rafa fan site has a designated Djoko-troll. It’s in their fan contract! 🙂 Not sure they get paid, but probably. Just laugh at them.
