Novak Djokovic’s 10th Australian Open title means he is world number one. His four-place rise from No. 5 to replace Carlos Alcaraz at No. 1 is the largest jump to the top spot in the 50-year history of the computerized rankings for men’s tennis.

Stefanos Tsitsipas went from No. 4 to No. 3 because of his run in Melbourne. Casper Ruud went from No. 3 to No. 4. while Andrey Rublev is No. 5 after getting to the quarterfinals.

The Top 5 are followed by Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime at No 7, American Taylor Fritz at No 8 (+1), Danish teen Holger Rune at No 9 (+1), and Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz at No 10 (+1). Daniil Medvedev drops out of the top 10 and is now ranked No 12.

ATP rankings as of January 30:

1. Novak Djokovic (SRB) 7070 (+4)

2. Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) 6730 (-1)

  1. This coming weekend is three weeks from our last update from Rafa regarding his injury sustained at the AO…. He should be scanned again very soon and hopefully he will give us a thumbs up diagnosis and a timeframe for his return….🙏

    We miss you Rafa…. that’s for sure… ❤️M

  2. There’s too much talk about Djoker on this site. Why waste time and energy replying to those keen to sabotage and disrupt? My focus is on Rafa and his recovery. Looking forward to seeing our champ fit and healthy for the clay season.

    • Lorna, you are right about not responding to these trolls… However recently they have been very active and out of control with their praising of ND and bashing of Rafa. Many of the old timers here including myself found it hard to just ignore their hateful degrading comments. There are also some new fans who love Rafa just the same and feel the need to defend him as well. I remember years ago if you posted the slightest negative comment you would be put under review and could be bumped off. I know because it happened to me for a comment a lot less invasive then these. It made me very sad and for years I continued to follow y’all but was unable to join in. Maybe with all the complaints they will be removed. We will see!

      • Ziggy, I take your point. Constructive critism is acceptable, but senseless Rafa bashing is not,, so t’s the job of the moderator to remove stupid, hateful comments.

  3. Hi there Rafamaniacs, it’s me Deep Thinker….I’m back and Baad to temporarily stand in for my sister and High Parametaphysician, Maria (Snake Island).
The Elders governing the Inner Coven of Supreme Council of Para and Metaphysicians decided to recall her following the abuses heaped on her on this site after she released her Tennis Prediction for 2023.

The Grand Master then motioned me to replace her ASAP to restore order here.
So, the good times are here again… how’s my good friend, Margo? Been a while….I will see what I can do to bring Rafa’s glory back quickly. Like I said, the good days are here again!!!

    But, as always, we’d see…

  4. I think that rafa, nole and federer have more respect for eachother than their fans. There is no reason for rafa not to like nole. If you saw djokovic interview he refused to say that he was the greatest of all time he didnt want to disrespect rafa and roger. Rafa respects nole I think its time for us to do the same.

  5. To the Owner / Moderator of this site : Off late, there have been an increasing number of low-life Djoker fans writing trash on this site. His fan base is by far the worst I have ever seen. Would request you to block those people from commenting on this site. This is a site for Rafa Nadal fans, not Djokovic’s toxic and low-life loser fans.
Some examples are the young voter and that Snake lady.

    • Young voter, Maria snake island, and j beer write very abusive and disrespectful comments on this site. Yuck!

    • Don’t Forget J Beer … He is by far the most toxic . . . The Snake and Young Voter are jokes…their post are just to spark reactions from Rafa’s fans! J Beer posts are very hostile. These three have no business on Rafa’s fan site. They disrupt and pollute a very special place where Rafa’s true fans can come and express their love and admiration for him. Please whoever is in charge of Rafa’s fan site…remove these trolls.

  6. Rafa, we LOVE your determination and resilience! We know if you believe in it, you can absolutely make it happen!! No one has been as inspirational in tennis as you!!!

  7. Rafa no longer cares about the rankings, but I will be sad if he does indeed drop out of the top ten. That was such an amazing record that he has. I think we Rafans have to get used to the fact Rafa’s playing days may be coming to an end. How many times does he have to overcome injuries? I just want Rafa to end his career as he wishes and not due to injuries. I realize that Novak is a great player, but I find it hard to even watch his matches. I have my fingers crossed Rafa can play the clay season without injuries.

    • Rafa wants to return to the tour and compete for championships. For now that’s enough for me. There has been some talk in the media about Roland Garris being another Nadal/Djokovic confrontation. I think its a bit early for that kind of speculation. First Rafa needs to recover from the hip injury to pursue his goals.

It won’t be all smooth sailing for Djokovic either. I don’t see the CDC lifting its vaccination rules for enty into the U.S. in time for Indian Wells or Miami. The Biden Administration will apparently lift the covid Emergency Declaration in May. Its unlcear whether the CDC would follow suit and automatically change its rules in time for the U.S. Open.

      Recover well Rafa!

  8. Heal well Rafa, we will all be waiting for your return. You are a legend and will always be my number one 💕

  9. Just get healthy, Rafa. AO was of little interest with the antics of Djokovic and father. Hope
    your recovery is progressing well👏❤️

  10. Rafa is in between Roger and Novak, making him compete with Roger at the height of Rogers prime, and has had to compete with Novak when Rafa is not in his prime. Think of all the grand slams Rafa would have if he didn’t have Roger in his prime, and now Novak in his prime. Nmention

  11. Like always… everything easy , Djokovic get it … it make wonder why? He always had been injury free… if he would had all the injuries history of Rafael Nadal, I wonder how much , he would had accomplished…

    • He won’t nearly be as accomplished as Rafael Nadal, Alexis, that I can assure you. Rafa is simply the quintessence of a great athlete whose skills, talent and mental fortitude have made him a rare specie, as rare as the combination of transcendent talent, toughness and character that we’ve seen in him over the past 20 years. Whichever way he ends his career, there will never be another Rafael Nadal again. May God bless him.

  12. Who cares? Nadal will always be number one for me and a close following by Roger.
Novak had an easy run actually and it was obvious that without any strong opponents he would win. Yes he is a very talented tennis player, but…

    • There’s too much talk about Djoker on this site. Why waste time and energy replying to those keen to sabotage and disrupt? My focus is on Rafa and his recovery. Looking forward to seeing our champ fit and ready for the start of the clay season.
