Rafa leads the American 2-1 in the head-to-head. He won their previous encounter at the 2022 Wimbledon in five sets.

Before 2022, our champ qualified 16 times for the end-of-year event, but played in only 10 tournaments (36 matches played, 20 won, 16 lost). In his 10 appearances, he reached the final twice (2010 and 2013) and the semi-finals four times. He exited at the round-robin stage in 2009, 2011, 2017 and 2019.
