In one of the biggest blockbuster matches in tennis and probably the best quarterfinal ever in the history of the French Open, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic produced amazing level of play in their 59th career match-up. It was the first time in the Open era that a men’s match has featured two men with at least 20 Grand Slam wins, 1,000 match wins or 300 Grand Slam match wins.
Our champ knocked out the defending champion and World No. 1 Novak Djokovic 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(4) in a classic to reach the last four in Paris on cold Tuesday night. After four hours and 11 minutes, Rafa achieved his 110th win in 113 matches at the French Open.
The 21-Grand Slam champion will next take on No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev who defeated 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz in four sets.
