Rafael Nadal comes in sixth place at professional golf tournament in Mallorca

Rafael Nadal swapped his rackets for his golf clubs as he took part in the Balearic Championship in Mallorca, and out of 60 contestants, he finished sixth.

Rafa ranked 10th on the first day, and move up to seventh by the end of the weekend.

It was not Rafa’s first foray into golf, with the Spaniard finishing second just last weekend in the V Test Circuit Hexagonal – Autovidal in Calvia.

Rafa is all set to appear in the Rolex Paris Masters 2020 starting at the end of this month.

Day 1: Saturday

Day 2: Sunday

Day 3: Monday

  1. Dominic Thiem is not playing Bercy because of very painful foot blisters that started appearing during his first match at the Vienna Open. Hopefully he will be back to play the Finals and pain free.

  2. Rafa’s potential route to the finals.

    R1 Bye
    R2 Feliciano Lopez or Krajinovic
    R3 Borna Coric
    QF Pablo Carreño-Busta
    SF Zverev or Rublev
    F Diego Schwartzman

  3. Simona Haley announced that she has contracted Covid-19. She is home quarantining and feels good with mild symptoms.

  4. For Twitter members there’s a picture of Rafa and Diego sitting side-by-side [@SitTanyusha] looking like teenagers engrossed in a VERY serious undertaking. Rafa is showing Diego something on his phone so what could these two be up to.

  5. I don’t know how widespread the negative comments are about ND’s loss in Vienna. From the ones I have read it is being suggested that, from those who watched the match, the ATP take away the points he won in Vienna as a penalty for his lack of performance.

  6. Rafa and Diego practised together in Paris today. It looks like they are still friends 😉
Several of the players contesting the last places at the ATP finals are not playing this tournament, so Diego’s chances of making it to London have increased.

Rafa’s first match will be against either Filip Krajinovic or Feli Lopez. Vamos!

    • I think the only one who has a chance of displacing Diego is perhaps Berrettini who is playing Bercy. Those who have withdrawn were too far behind Diego to get in front of him. Further, if Thiem doesn’t heal in time and decides to skip the Finals Diego will make the top eight.

      • I agree, anyone apart from Berrettini would need to win the tournament to have a chance. This is assuming the ATP Finals take place. I haven’t yet found any mention of professional sport in the new COVID restrictions that start here from next Thursday.

  7. Paris Masters draw:

    Top eight seeds
1st quarter: Rafa and David Goffin
2nd quarter: Alex Zverev and Andrey Rublev
3rd quarter: Diego Schwartzman and Daniil Medvedev
4th quarter: Matteo Berrettini and Stefanos Tsitsipas

Good luck to Rafa 🍀 Vamos 💪❤️

  8. The Paris Bercy qualifiers are in action today and tomorrow.

GOOD LUCK TO RAFA and hoping he stays safe and healthy. Trusting that he can practice as he wants before he starts his quest for the elusive title.

    RAFA ROCKS

  9. Besides voicing a preference for the Slams to be best-of-three instead of five, ND now says that the number of Slams a player wins should not be the main factor in the GOAT debate.”But his argument probably ignores what makes the best-of-five format special: the endurance and strategy required to prevail in it.”

As I see it, he is attempting to make the case for a player who garners the most end-of-year Number 1 titles.

Can anyone guess his next ploy?

  10. In WikipediA, where I located the list of seeded players, Rafa is referred to as “His Excellency.”

    • Correction: Rafa is now “His Excellency” on his WikipediA page, not on the WikipediA Paris Masters draw page as earlier stated.

    • He must me “getting the business” from his friends as they bow and offer to kiss the ring!! 😊

      • Poor Rafa, I can see him blushing red hot from embarrassment. I hope his friends are not too hard on him. He can always ban the really naughty ones to the engine room of his catamaran😂

    • Maria can now officially be referred to as Lady Nadal. Very appropriate as she is a true lady in every way.
