I’m tired. The truth is that I still haven’t fully recovered. I came home and we have already done a little recovery. I’m regaining my strength little by little. It’s too early to hash out plans, because since that match, I haven’t had a chance to discuss matters with my team. This week we will have that conversation, but apart from this, I will also have to wait a few days to see how my body heals. One thing I do have is Laver Cup 2019 marked on my calendar.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly making plans to stage a tennis match between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to ABC (h/t Football Espana), Perez has told some of the club’s hierarchy of his plans, and Madrid fan Nadal is “open to playing in such an occasion.” The report added Perez wants to set an all-time record attendance for tennis at Real’s 81,044-seater stadium in the Spanish capital.
Nadal will get married to his long time girlfriend Maria Francisca Perello, and his uncle Toni Nadal is confident that marriage will not stop the Spaniard from winning major tournaments in tennis.
“After the US Open, he will win more Grand Slams, even being married.” Is Rafael playing as best as ever? “I think in 2008 or 2010 he was better because he was younger, explosive. Now he may be more complete on his shots but ten years ago he was stronger,” the former coach said.

It is true that even after a week removed from the match that my heart still skips a beat thinking about the match. The drama in that match is probably never going to be produced again at any major title final. Rafael, thank you for your grit, your tenacity, your focus, your desire, your passion, and your willingness to accept whatever outcomes happen. You are a tremendous example of what great champions should be!

I’ve just watched the whole match for the 4th time. and even though I know the outcome, I still get stressed every time I watch it, specially that last set. Rafa showed a level of mental toughness he hadn’t shown for a long time. He wasn’t giving up. He stayed calmed even when the umpire gave him a time violation at 30-40 in that final set and ended up double-faulting and losing the game.
Another thing, people go on about how this match was one of the longest, but I think that something to consider is that the serve clock was implemented last year, so that the Murray-Djokovic final wouldn’t have been affected by serving-time restrictions.

Here in the USA we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s to get through before the AO. 🙂 Also Laver Cup, Davis Cup, Shanghai, Paris… and what else? Oh yeah, the WTF.
I am here in Mallorca , went to the Aca Friday, the staff saïd he has not yet placed his US trophy behind glass in the Museo there. He has been at home this week resting ☺ Saw Tio Toni and wished them Bravo 😃😆 for US Open. They saïd we may see him there next week training before Laver Cup. Fiona in Paris
