Unstoppable, unequalled, unforgettable.
Rafael Nadal’s incredible domination in Paris continued with his 12th French Open win on Sunday afternoon. The King of Clay defeated Austrian Dominic Thiem 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 to add yet another Grand Slam title to his resume.
It was Rafa’s ninth win in 13 matches against Thiem, who has been the only player to beat our champ on clay over the past few years.
With the victory, the Manacor native adds an 18th Grand Slam crown, which draws him to within two of Roger Federer’s all-time record of 20.
After the match, Rafa said:
I want to say congratulations to Dominic. I feel sorry as he deserves to win it as well. But he has every chance in the future. He has unbelievable talent for the sport and I want to encourage him for the future.
It’s a dream to win again, an incredible moment. When I first played here in 2005 I never thought I would be still playing here in 2019.
It’s very special for me.

Good afternoon Rafa, you were Great once again today, from The Canaries I´d like to congratulate you, without any doubt you´ar: ¡¡ The King & Number O n e !! Have The Most Happy Celebration, C. Javier
Absolutely relentless he was on fire.. Rafa you are simply the best player ever.. congratulations 🏆🏆🍾🍸🇪🇸🔥🔥❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lost for words but very happy. A truly remarkable achievement by a truly remarkable man.
Thiem played like he did in Barcelona in the first set, but this time Rafa could find a way past him. The third set was something else. Well played Dominic but even you’re no match for Rafa at his his best. I feel the same as Rafa though, when he finally can’t win RG anymore, I’d like Dominic to be the one to take over. Hopefully that’s a while away. How lovely was Rafa’s praise for Dominic though!
I’ll think about the numbers and the records later, but today was amazing Rafa, seeing you holding that beautiful trophy again is just wonderful.
VAMOS RAFA! ONE AND ONLY!
Rafa you were mesmerising today how do you play such marvellous tennis I will never know. There won’t be anybody like you or come near your brilliance! I don’t know what else to say you are magnificent and a genius. My best hero ever!
You deserve a good rest and a relaxing holiday with Maria and hope to see you playing very soon!
With,
Love and best wishes,
Jo

CONGRATULATIONS !!!! Stunning , faultless performance in Roland Garros !!
Rafa: I have no words to express how unique a sportsman you are ! Watching you over the years has given me so much excitement, drama and pleasure and that is on and off the court . With all your extreme fighting spirit and obvious muscle power and strength you can’t conceal that Ou have a very good and gentle heart. In fact it is that contrast of your aggressive, physical , focused ,spirited, super energetic and precise performance and the modest, respectful, utterly fair and truthful attitude you display off the court which makes you in my view the best tennis player and overall sportsman of all times!
I am a 70 year old grandmother and a retired sports teacher from Wimbledon, who has tickets for the Wimbledon Final – see you there ,dear Raf%just want to thank you for all the magic moments you have given me and my family who are all your fans !
I wish you good health and all the best for your upcoming marriage with your beautiful bride: what an amazing couple you make!
VAMOS ⭐️
Rafa forever !! ❤️
Well said guineabear1! I also feel that Rafa’s fans are a reflection of his personal.
I knew that Rafa had several French Open titles within his game, and us fans are elated with his stellar performance this year!
Rafa, we love you, not only for your tennis, but for the man you are!
The King Of Clay Strikes Again. Thank you Rafa , after losing my mum 7 months ago and my 14 year old westie 3 weeks ago you have put a smile back on my face , congratulations no one deserves it more than you .
Accept my sympathies, Maria (England) in respect of your recent losses. Mothers are the most precious gift on earth
No wonder you have been absent from this site for a while now.
We really missed you
We are now in celebration mood over Rafa,s 12th RG win – Rafa is simply the greatest ever now!!!1
But, as always, we’ll see……..cheers to all Rafamaniacs out there – the die-hardFan Love, and the outspoken Margo, We love you all…..
Rafaamazing forever!!!!!!!!
Maria, I see Rafa has put you in a good mood. Me, I’m gonna go pick up my winnings mañana; sure hope you didn’t lose too much money.
Thiem said he is going to try again next year. He is too charming for words. During his on-court interview McEnroe wanted to know Thiem’s thoughts as to why he lost and alluded to perhaps Thiem was tired. Well, Thiem told him in unambiguous fashion “That is not why I lost.”
What a charmer.
Thank you Maria {The Deep Thinker} for your kind words , what a great day for Rafa and I will look forward to reading your future posts again { and the wise words from your Great Aunt}.
Congratulations Rafer fabulous game I told you your trophy was waiting and so is the crown the king of clay 🎉🎾❤️🥰🥳👑

Amazing Rafa, phenomenal, unbelievable! Thiem could have rested a week and the outcome would have been the same. Can’t help but like Thiem though… Prince of Clay for now:)
