Lovely to see that so many other famous athletes took time to acknowledge Rafa’s victory, particularly David Ferrer, Diego and Juan Monaco. Another wonderful achievement , winning title number 8 in Rome.
Rafa used all his skill, strength of mind and character to come back . Difficult to analyse how he lost set number two by so much . Know Zverev upped his standard but Rafa baffles me.
Despite the rain I felt that Rafa would break back.
Time for a little rest and hope he takes off in his wonderful Beethoven and relaxed with the sea and the sky all round him.

I think Rafa is a cross between a super-hero and a magician. How he continues to excell and compete no matter who the oponent, what the adversity or what the deficit, he’s simply remarkable. Each generation breeds a new hero. Before Rafa it was Borg, but Now Rafa is my hero this generation and generations to come. He is by far the ultimate fighter and competitor.
