Rafa and David have met three times and our champ has won two of those matches. The most recent meeting was in the 2017 ATP World Tour Finals, a match Goffin won in three sets.

RafaNadal is appearing in his 11th Barcelona semi-final and he’s never lost a set in this round (20-0). He is 14-1 on the season (10-0 on clay) and he has won 17 straight clay court matches since losing to Thiem in the QF at ATP Masters 1000 Rome last May. Our champ is looking to reach his 113th tour-level singles final (76-36) and 63rd on clay (54-8).

If Rafa reaches his 11th Barcelona final, he will become the fourth player in the Open Era with 400 wins on clay (399-35), joining Guillermo Vilas (659-162), Manuel Orantes (502-150) and Thomas Muster (422-127).

While Rafa has not lost a set, Goffin has dropped the opening set in all three wins this week. Goffin is 11-40 lifetime against Top 10 opponents, including 4-10 on clay. The 27-year-old Belgian is trying to advance to his 12th ATP World Tour final (4-7), the third on clay (1-1).

Good luck & Vamos Rafa!
