    • DP gets broken in the 2nd set. The match is pretty match over, sadly. Will be very glad if I’m wrong though. Poor DP. Hope he’ll recover soon and better luck next time.

  4. Rafa, I am thinking of your 1,000th match, not the B word. Surely if you won your 13th FO, that’s what the talk of the town would be, instead of the B in the first set. You handled that reporter with aplomb. 👏😘👍🍕🍾

  6. Me too. Rafael is my 6th cat and I thought it was the purrrrfect name since I’ve been watching rafa since 2005. I got him from a cats home in november and he’s gorgeous. Raffy and I watch all of rafa’s matches together.

  7. Oh no, just started watching again, what happened to Del potro, what a great name for a cat Susie , how did you come up with that Lol. My one is really original ( not) i bought her near Xmas couldn’t think of a girls name as originally going for a male so called her Holly Berry Lol , Shouldn’t show any favouritism so i will mention my cat Golam , Now back to the tennis.

  10. Well done on your 1000th ATP match Rafa and may you continue to thrill and excite us with your never say die tennis for as long as you can! I love the fact that Rafa praises other players and always acknowledges when they play better than him. No excuses given. Difficult to do anything if a player is in the zone and hitting the ball so hard and accurately as Philipe did in the first set. Rafa stayed very calm, recognising that he was hit off the court, but he pressed the reset button and, in his own words, started the match from the second set. I don’t think we’ll see the same problems against Mahut as he loves to serve and volley, so looking forward to seeing a feast of passing shots from Rafa. Good luck warrior!!!

  13. Oh Maria – never mind. Rafael (my cat and raffy for short) has just hissed at me. Think I was grooming him too hard but it clda been Roger?? Joke. Yes I love mohamed – he is just so smiley and lovely. Only realised a couple of years ago that he’s swedish of morrocan descent. Great umpire

I am now 81 n have followed you since you were a teenager. I decided to be your Aussie Grandmother some years ago when my grandson, who is the same age as you, bought me your book RAFA as soon as it was sold in Australia. I love it. However, he won’t give me the Headband you gave him when you won the Australian Open! Coincidently, my younger grandson 25, was your double when in high school n his mates nick-named him Rafa, which stuck to him right thru Uni. Wish you would write a few lines to me Rafa.
