  1. RAFA I am so sorry to know about your wrist injury.

i think it has been bothering you for a while,
so rest it and take the time necessary for the healing to take place.
    I
have had a broken right wrist as a child and it is amazingly strong now.

Take big care, love to you, your family and your team,

    Love and Prayers,

    AlaineXXAustraliaXX

  2. Stay strong; injuries are the bane of an athlete’s life, regardless of age. Doubtless,
the Nadal team is making the best decisions for Rafael. They would not jeopardize his health or future.

However, the FO or any tournament is completely changed without Rafael and Roger. Who carries the same charisma? Recover and resume your journey👊💪👏👑♥️

  3. I honestly believe that Rafa could have beaten Novak this time ,but now we will never know ,as Rafa said he was there to win not just to get to the semi final. Let’s hope this dosen’t set him back again and that he comes back stronger than ever. Novak has an easy ride to the final now that’s for sure. Stan ,Andy or kei anyone but the joker

    • Apart from Macho contests, Rafa has always been Novak’s nemesis at the French.

So, with the sad exit of Rafa now, do you need ”The Prophet Speaks” or ”Deep Thinker” or ”Nostradamus” to tell you that Novak will win? C’mmon, girl, you’re not pretty for nothing!

      But, as always, we’ll see…………..

  4. Totally Agree, I dont think Rafa’s team or uncle can be blamed for this unfortunate event , only Rafa could know how much pain he was feeling in his wrist. that said I don’t even Rafa knew how bad it was until he received the scan results. Take all the time you need to recover Rafa , your fans will all be here waiting your return

  5. Maria and margo – on a positive note, if that smarmy chest thumping 2 faced fool who wears high heel trainers, novak, wins rg, at least we can say he only got it cos rafa didnt play. Cmon stan and andy – stop him!

    • Nobody (except Nadal)has beaten Novak successively since 2011 – Novak’s break-out year!

Andy CANNOT & WILL NOT beat Novak for the 2nd time successively should they meet in the Final.
Stan now has a better chance, but I really dont see how he too can beat Novak (twice) in the same competition!

Only NADAL might have been able to stop him, but………………As it is, with the sad exit of our dear Rafa, the 2016 FO Trophy is Novak’s to lose.

      But, as always we’lll see…………………….Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  6. I and all Rafa fans are of course heartbroken for this special man. That being said, it is frustrating to constantly read comments from “fans” who seem angry at rather than feeling badly for him. And then do what Rafa himself would never do, and blame his team.
Do you really think his team is not out for what is best for him?? His uncle is his family, who has been there from the beginning. He is not a former star out to get in the limelight again and/or make lots of money. Rafa’s welfare is his only concern. He’d love to be spending more time with his family and his kids, but would never desert Rafa.
Rafa is an adult who is not a child/man smashing rackets and beating his chest. He is extremely mature, and makes his own decisions. Everyone on the tour spends a lot of time injured in some way and they all try and push through it. It is the tendon, he was not saying his “wrist is broken.”
Let’s hope that this injury will heal quickly so he can get back into the great form and think positive that he WILL be carrying the flag in the Olympics!!

    • I think most Rafa fans do understand, but we are all so sad for our hero. It is so true that Uncle Toni wants the best for him. The news was just so shocking after Rafa had played so well. I just want to remind Rafa fans, even though they know it already, that life is not fair. Juan Martin Del Potro has been incredibly unlucky with wrist injuries so it can happen to anyone. We all need to treasure whenever Rafa does play since we never know when it will be the last.

    • I wonder why the great liker called Brlome has not liked this comment?!

      Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……….

  7. So gutted for Rafa he was doing so well and I truly believed the way he was playing that he would win this
His injury sounds bad and I was so upset when listening to his interview but if he takes time to recover he should get back to playing but it seems to soon to play at Wimbledon he has nothing to prove to anyone he has won it all and he done his fans proud and no matter what happens his fans will always be there for him “king of clay ” title will ALWAYS be his there is no one not even Djokovic can take this away from him !!
Tennis without Rafa and Roger wil be so boring and I can’t see any of the upcoming players able to take their place
So get better soon Rafa take your time to heal and when you are ready to come back we will be there waiting for you

    ,

    • Dear Brlome,

I wonder whether you ever studied a wonderful subject called Physics in school, uuuh?
I have a Masters Degree in Mathematical Physics (specializing in Robotics), but eventually got a PHD to wit in Human Kinetics and psycho-motor reactions.

So, if you ever did Physics, you would have known that ‘Nature abhors a vacuum’

The great Bjorn Borg, John Mcenroe had to exit so that the Rogers and Rafas of this world could emerge! That is it! So, other super stars will emerge to replace the super stars of today. Just like Light, Life is a continuous stream or spectrum (if you like) of infinite and undying particles.

When Pele left football, Maradonna emerged, then Beckham and just when we thought we had seen it all, Lionel Messi sprung out from no where!!!!

      But, as always, we’ll see……Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm……..

      • You’re right of course sportstars always emerge and appear greater than the last but Rafa, purely as a physical specimen – believe me from a female perspective – irreplaceable! Know what I mean?

      • Dr Who is all about himself and how much he knows or pretends to know!! We support Rafael and can do without these know all comments. Most people are well educated and this is not the place to self promote. Cop on man and give us a break. Get well Rafael, Paris and tennis is the poorer without you.

  8. It’s just sad! For me the French Open died today. Rafa is a lovely person, a great champion on the court and just a lovely man! Why has he always the injuries! WHY? This is not fair.

Come back soon Rafa! We are always with you <3 <3 <3

    • Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm….so sad indeed.

No one to stop Novak in his tracks!!!!

      But, as always, we’ll see……………Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh….

  9. My heart aches for him. He has been doing so well. But his health is all important. Does this mean he will not be able to carry the flag at the olympics? If so, another heartbreak!

    • Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…….

I can remember they said the same thing to Mohammed Ali, but before one could say ”Judy Allen” Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield jutted out from the wood work! See?

      But, as always, we’ll see…………….

  10. I do not think Rafa knew it was as serious as it was until the doctor prognosis, if he did I don’t believe he would have continued to play . What he needs to do now is rest and let it recover and not even think about playing at Wimbledon. Grass has always been testing on his knees but listening to Mat Islander and John McEnroe they have both said that grass is the worst surface for having a bad wrist as the balls are heavy.Mat wilander doesn’t think it’s a threat to his career and that he has a few years left in him . Let’s hope he right on both accounts.

    • Good, old Marty!

But I’m also a Doctor myself, pretty Maria. I ‘m a Doctor of Many Things.

      But, as always, we’ll see……………..

  12. I’m so angry. This has been my biggest issue with Rafa. He played in Madrid despite the wrist issue and then Rome. When something is going wrong STOP and RECOVER. Don’t force it. Madrid and Rome aren’t that important. Your health is important. You always force it, your team doesn’t warn you. This is your career because your team doesn’t tell you when to stop. You don’t know when to stop until you HAVE to.

Do you know how serious wrist issue is ? He said if he continues it’ll be broken. That’s horrible.
I think this is it for Rafa’s career. I’m incredibly sad. I hate when injuries happen to good people and great sportsmen.

    • Wrist issues are indeed dangerous, Vamossrafanadal27!! Very, very dangerous!!!

If you dont believe, ask JMDP (Juan Martin Del Potro)..

      But, as always, we’ll see…………….

  13. Very upsetting to watch , I know perhaps Rafa shouldn’t have played the FO if he was nursing an injury , but it’s a very special tournament to him for obvious reasons and after the past year perhaps he wanted to prove to himself and his fans that he still had the ability to claim another grand slam. Just hope a speedy recovery for him . The French Open now without Rafa is like Christmas day without presents .

    • Maria he said the injury started at Madrid. Rafa played at least 7-8 matches since then. If he had stopped then with Madrid and skipped Rome for RG he could’ve easily played this tournament and then skipped Wimbledon to fully recover. Now he made things worse by forcing his wrist to the extreme. :(. I feel like crying because this might be the end for our Rafa. I get all emotional when things come to an end. Especially for legends of the game.

      • Agreed with you 100%. Very sad for Rafa! But very bad management from him and his team! Who cares for Barcelona or Rome title? He should know his priority is RG! He should do anything possible to be healthy and plaand win RG,because that’s what count!!

      • Dont worry he will be back

Winning rg without getting in rhtym with previous tournament is what rafa would have thought and he is correct

We.can say he should straight away got rested after madrid and skip rg 16 also

But it was rafa decision so we should respect that…….he knows better when and what to do

      • Totally agree with you. Based on the facts, I feel the Rome tournament should have been skipped due to the injury and give the wrist some rest. The team are responsible to give the right advice at periods like that. Rafa played Rome with anti inflammatories and was feeling pain each time he hit his forehand, Now the priority is he regains good health even if that means skipping wimbledon. He will be back and will win the french open again in the next years to come i have no doubt about that.

  14. I cried when you were telling us about your wrist this morning. You do what the doctors and your team tell you. Our prayers go out to your family and your girlfriend. I’ve loved you since the first day I saw you walk on the court. I’ll be here when you come back or if you decide this is time for you to,retire. You do what’s best for you. Thanks for speaking to us in English today. I know it’s hard to learn languages when your so busy playing. We’re sending all of our wishes for a speedy recovery. 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😿😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹
