2015 Rogers Cup Draw: Rafael Nadal given tough route to final

The Rogers Cup announced its draw today, and here are the results. Three-time champion Rafael Nadal is seeded No. 7 and has a bye in the first round.

In the second round, Rafa will play against the winner of the match between Sergiy Stakhovsky and Canadian wild card Filip Peliwo.

Rafa’s potential route to the final:

First round: Bye
Second round: Sergiy Stakhovsky or Filip Peliwo
Third round: Gilles Simon
Quarter-final: Kei Nishikori
Semi-final: Andy Murray
Final: Novak Djokovic

If the men play to seed the quarter-final line up will be:

  • Novak Djokovic vs. Tomas Berdych
  • Stan Wawrinka vs. Milos Raonic
  • Kei Nishikori vs. Rafael Nadal
  • Andy Murray vs. Marin Cilic

  4. that not a tough draw at all… I expect him to play the semis at least. I he doesnt play semis then i would think, it was a bad performance.
