Spanish basketball brothers Pau and Marc Gasol have made history as the first European players to be voted by fans to start next month’s NBA All-Stars game in New York.
Rafael Nadal has recorded a message congratulating the Gasol brothers. Watch:
Pau, who plays for the Chicago Bulls, will play his fifth All-Star game after coming second in the voting for the Eastern Conference side. Marc, of the Memphis Grizzlies, will take part for the second time – but on each previous occasion, both players had been reserves, who are chosen by a ballot of head coaches. The Gasols are also the first brothers to both make an NBA All-Stars starting line-up.
