Top seed Rafael Nadal breezed through to the third round at 2014 Roland Garros after downing Austrian Dominic Thiem in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 to improve to 61-1 lifetime at the clay-court Grand Slam championship, which he first won in 2005 (d. Puerta). Rafa will next play Leonardo Mayer.
“I played well. I played the way that I would like to play… and I’m happy the way I returned today… I was a bit nervous at the beginning of the match. Dominic will have his chances to become a top star and fight for these tournaments… I think that he has huge potential and he could be one of the players who is going to replace us. His tennis style is really good. What he could work on is his footwork and how he moves on the court. That’s all,” said Rafa.

What in hell do you want from him ? He has won every thing in site, he doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone.I for one admire him just because. He is Rafa.
congrats hero..ur the great… wish u all sucess..all the very best…man
Congrats Rafa!!!keep it up the same momentum for the remaining matches…
Congratulations Rafa! Unfortunately couldn’t watch the match but was listening to the commentary. Reading some comments – one said “but wondering if his serve is going to be a factor in later matches. His serve frankly is weak right now as it has been the entire clay court season. Fastest serve 179km/hr ? Djokovic will eat that up and won’t even need a napkin. I’ve been praying for Rafa to show more on that serve all season but it’s more of the same right now. There’s supposedly talk in the locker rooms that Rafa is secretly injured, and frankly it has been on my mind a lot these last few weeks, because he just isn’t playing the kind of tennis I am used to seeing at this stage of the clay court season”.
I know that Rafa is nowhere near his best, but I hope it is not because of his knees, back or … . He still has a long way ahead and if he reaches the finals and has to play Djokovic he will have to be 100% and also top of his game. So once again I wish him a perfect serve, perfect timing, good length shots and mix up of shots and aggressive play.
VAMOS RAFA!!!
