Nickelodeon has announced the categories and nominees for the 2014 Nickelodeon first-ever Kids’ Choice Sports Awards.
World No. 1 Rafael Nadal is nominated in the funny category – Party Like a Sports Star. Also nominated in that category are: Victor Cruz (NFL, New York Giants), Knowshon Moreno (NFL, Miami Dophins), Cam Newton (NFL, Carolina Panthers), Cristiano Ronaldo (Spanish Club Real Madrid and Portugal National Team), and Abby Wambach (US Women’s Soccer).
The awards show will air on July 17, 2014, and it will be hosted by Michael Strahan. Check out all the categories and nominees here.

A picture – see above – is worth a thousand words. Rafa seems to have a great rapport with children, more so, IMHO, than any other superstar athlete of our time. Perhaps it’s his natural affability and humility that makes him so likable, and so approachable, to his younger fans. They take to him like fish take to water.
