Rafael Nadal won his 50th consecutive clay court semifinal by defeating Roberto Bautisa Agut at the Mutua Madrid Open on Saturday. He thereby reached his sixth Madrid, 90th overall career and 39th Masters 1000 final. He is looking for a record 27th M1000 trophy, besting his own record of 26, which stands alone. Rafa’s opponent in the final is Kei Nishikori of Japan, who defeated David Ferrer with a slug fest in the semifinal.

In six head to head meetings, Rafa has allowed Nishikori only one set and leads the series 6-0. Their last meeting was at the Australian Open this year, where Nishikori famously pushed Rafa to two tiebreakers with his supple game.  Their only meeting on clay was at Roland Garros in 2013.

VAMOS RAFA! All the way to a victory!

  1. Good luck Sunday Rafa, Kei is a force to contend with, he just might beat you, but keep up your triple AAA game, because that is how I know you have attained your #1 status, VAMOS Rafa VAMOS, you are the man!!!!!

    • Well well its 4/1 in the first set to NISHIKORI …..can it get any worse for RAFA or can he find his way back in the next set as he has often done in the past….

  2. I am happier that RAFA is playing NISHIKORI in the final at MADRID rather then FERRER, I like his chances better against NISHIKORI who is rising up in the ranks, and playing great tennis, his coach is MICHAEL CHANG who I also enjoyed watching play in his day, he is doing wonders with NISHIKORI…What a game that was, NISHIKORI two points away from winning, but took some ten minutes or so to get there in the end….good for him, he is making great strides, and will be in the top ten for sure after this tournament….CMON RAFA YOU ARE IN THE FINAL…..AWESOME…..FINDING YOUR CONFIDENCE AND YOUR RYTHYMN LOOKING GOOD AND PEAKING AT THE RIGHT TIME…

  3. Rafa must come to the party tomorrow with his AAA+++ game……otherwise Kei Nishikori may just pull an upset!!!

    • Hi Afolabi! I’m confident in Rafa. I think he’s going to bring it! 🙂 Vamos!!
