Barcelona Open 2014 Draw: Rafael Nadal begins his quest for title No.9

The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell 2014 draw is out.

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal will begin his quest for title No.9 in Barcelona on Wednesday. He will play the winner of the match between Albert Ramos and Nikolay Davydenko, who is the only active player to have a positive H2H record over Rafa at 6-5.

The seeds in Rafa’s quarter are Feliciano Lopez, Fernando Verdasco, and Nicolas Almagro. Seeds in Rafa’s half are Jerzy Janowicz, Philipp Kohlschreiber, Marcel Granollers, and Fabio Fognini.

The seeds in the other half are Tommy Robredo, Marin Cilic, Benoit Paire, Kei Nishikori, Alexandr Dolgopolov, Ernests Gulbis, Dmitry Tursunov, and David Ferrer.

Rafa could face Nicolas Almagro in the quarterfinals. A rematch between Rafa and David Ferrer is possible in the final.
