For the third time in his career, Rafael Nadal has cinched the Year End No. 1 title, with a Round Robin win over Stanislas Wawrinka at the World Tour Finals in London. The win caps off a stellar year that saw Rafa excel on clay and on hard courts, winning two Grand Slams, five Masters 1000s and two ATP 500 tournaments, despite missing the Australian Open and exiting in the first round of Wimbledon. Voted the Comeback Player of the Year by fellow players, Rafa is on track to finish the year with a 3rd best W-L record (after 82W-11L in 2008, 79-10 in 2005). Rafa is one of only three players to finish #1 after losing it (the other two being Ivan Lendl and Roger Federer), and the first one to do so 3 years after his last Year End No. 1 ranking, in 2010.
What a monumental year it has been for King Rafa! Here is a look back at some of his photos from his winning season.
Congratulations Rafael Nadal, World Number 1 for 2013! This is your year!
