The doubles team of Rafael Nadal and Marc Lopez have won their doubles rubber for the Spain-Ukraine tie in the Davis Cup World Group playoffs. They defeated the team of Sergiy Stakhovsky & Denys Molchanov. It was a tough match and brilliant effort by the two, who have not played together in quite some time.

“We had the match under control but at the start of the second set I had a bit of a slump,” Rafa said in an interview with Spanish television broadcaster Teledeporte.

“But we got the breaks in the third and fourth sets at the right moment and were able to finish the match off. We are still in the World Group and I think that a country with so many players in the top 100 deserves it,” he added.
