Rafael Nadal is once again on the list of Forbes magazine’s top 100 highest paid athletes in 2013. Ranked at #30, he is down from #16 in 2012, understandably because of a lapse in earnings due to his absence from the circuit last year. The rankings are based on earnings and endorsements accrued in the previous twelve months. Rafa’s earnings are reported to be $26.4 million, with a majority ($21 m) coming from endorsement deals. His major sponsors are Bacardi, Kia Motors, Nike, and Babolat.
Among tennis players, topping the list is Roger Federer (#2, $71.5 m), followed by Maria Sharapova (#22, $29 m), Novak Djokovic (#28, $26.9 m), Serena Williams (#68, $20.5 m) and Li Na (#85, $18.2 m).
