Even though Spain’s Davis Cup captain David Ferrer still hasn’t revealed whether Rafael Nadal will feature in Tuesday’s quarter-final against the Netherlands, we still hope to see our champ playing at least in the doubles. Keep in mind that Ferrer has until one hour before the first singles match, which starts at 5 PM local time, to announce his line-up.
We are canceling all our obligations and from 5 PM onwards we’ll be cheering on Team Spain. From 5 PM until late into the night, all our attention will be on the action in the southern Spanish city of Malaga.
The best-of-three knockout ties consist of two singles matches and a doubles decider if required. Typically, the second-ranked singles players contest the first match, followed by the top-ranked singles players.

My heart breaks a little more with each article. I have been watching past Rafa matches and it just HURTS that he has decided to retire. I really hoped he would keep on playing like Stan. But if there’s one thing I know about Rafa, losing is NOT an option. He plays to win. Or does not play. My heart will shatter completely after Davis Cup ends. Tennis will never be even close to Rafa tennis. Vamos, dear Rafa. And thank you for the joy you gave us!!
