Rafael Nadal, known for his deep love of football and unwavering support for both the national team and his cherished club Real Madrid, recently took a break from preparing for his tennis comeback in Doha to catch a live match of his local club, Real Mallorca.
His presence seemed to bring luck as Real Mallorca delivered a sublime performance, securing a thrilling 3-2 victory over La Liga leaders Girona FC in front of a crowd of 20,000. This victory propelled Real Mallorca into the Copa del Rey semifinals for the first time since 2009 and marked Girona’s first away defeat of the season.
Naturally, the players were eager to seize the opportunity for a photo with Rafa amidst the celebration.

Any of you lovely people who watch the AO on Eurosport think that Nick Kyrgios is a good commentator? I was frankly shocked. Nick has turned me completely 180 on my opinion of him. He actually comes across like a nice guy.
Yeah. Paint me pink and call me purple.
Huge surprise.
NK can be either nice or nasty, depending on his mood. He seems to be determined to make a go of his stint as a commentator and actually does come across as knowledgeable and reasonable.
I find all his Gen Z expressions quite funny or reasonable. (Reasonable, a word I thought I’d never use to describe Kyrgios).
That shot was SICK!!!!
Strong hold, super strong hold.
Beautiful tennis (found that one quite sweet)
The way he refers to himself in the third person is strange yet funny.
Commentator: well, Nick, what do you think about the best players in the game who’ve never won a slam?
NK: Well, firstly, Nick Kyrgios. Lol.
Oh gawd. Cluttering up the place. Sorry.
Something jumps in to my head then I have to get it on here. Despite me saying that I wasn’t gonna be on here.
Anyway, I find that NK is not only reasonable but also respectful in commentary, to any player that he’s commentating on, he never once has said anything disrespectful like, what on Earth was he doing trying to play that shot, dumb ass move. Or similar.
He may think it but he’s clearly had extensive media training.
He’s also extremely respectful of the “big three” and judges them on their own merits without saying who’s the best.
Blergh.
Above was me with no green pointy coz I’ve partaken of loads of the demon drink plus a few cheeky other things. Can’t even spell my own email address.
D
Right. That’s it. No more booze nor…… other things for Dunkie
Fuck me. Two misspelt email addresses.
Eurgh
I agree with you 100%! Nick prides himself on being a bad boy…. However he makes a really good commentator and perhaps that’s more his calling then having the pressures of being on tour! I really enjoyed listening to him speak love his accent and he also is very knowledgeable!
I agree. It was good to see Nick behaving himself in the commentary box and doing a decent job. He was well informed, honest and engaging. My one criticism is that he talked too much during a point, but I’m sure he’ll correct that. The job’s there for him post retirement.
Without Rafa .. all tournaments are boring! He brings such excitement when he is playing… of course that has to do with how much his fans love him! Rafa entertained us… with his love for tennis and his crazy unbelievable shots along with his animated VAMOS’s he would have standing ovations with his fans going wild! Novak never had that charisma and if Roger or Rafa were playing against him the crowds would always be for them and not for him! I actually was very fond of Novak… but he started really getting quite cocky and arrogant…. I intensely hate his antics his bad temper smashing all those rockets with his disgraceful tantrums. We can’t take away from him being a very talented player… he’s an extraordinary athlete just not my cup of tea!
Sorry I meant Rackets !
If he had Rockets he would smash them too!
Going to watch the final… just coming on right now. I really don’t care who wins I like both of them…. It’s so much different watching a final without Rafa in it! Honestly I would be so freaking nervous that I really couldn’t enjoy it .. I wanted Rafa to win!! Jannik Sinner is still young and doesn’t have much personality on the courts… but he has good manners and is an excellent player… Daniil Medvedev has lots of personality… sometimes too much but he is likable at the same time! Although it’s a sold out crowd let’s face it the excitement just isn’t there! In this case may the best man win!
I think Sinner will definitely win. Straight sets.
Meds has had three five setters two before the final. And one a bit back against Roosover something. It takes its toll.
Round up of both.
Meds is arrogant and rude, he thinks he’s the most intelligent person in the arena. One example of this, there’s several. He likes the ball kids to have an equal amount of balls, three each. When this hasn’t happened in the past, he has screamed and shouted at the umpire about how the ball kids are hollow in the head.
Sinner is just dull, really.
Sinner will win. Straight sets.
Awesome Sinner. Wish it was a final
Update to AO-cannot say boring after Jannik’s semi😀All the best-
👍😁
Happy For Djoker ouster but felt same like when Rafa streak was broken In RG n Roger in Wimbledon
Good luck charm!👍⚽️
Absolutely agree. Great to see Rafa out and enjoying himself, always taking time for fans❤️👏🍀🎾
Australian Open are so boring without Rafa.
Watch Alcaraz Sonego.
Alcaraz put the ball Round the net post, not once but twice. In one match!
That shot used to be a once in a career shot. Bearing in mind that the majority of tournaments use a doubles net, not singles.
Great match. Not as amazing as Sinner Dojokovic (I skipped the 3rd set) but still amazing.
Yes, I do agree with you, the AO is pretty boring, the vast majority of the time.
