WATCH: Rafael Nadal waves at fans from his quarantine balcony in Adelaide as he prepares for the Australian Open

World No. 2 Rafael Nadal was spotted waving from his balcony at the M Suites accommodation in North Adelaide, where tennis players were undergoing mandatory quarantine ahead of the Australian Open.

Our champ will join Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and Novak Djokovic playing a pre-Australian Open warm-up exhibition in Adelaide after serving their quarantine in the South Australian city, Tennis Australia (TA) said.

  1. Rafa stay safe and good luck vamosssssss champ we are ready to see you on the court 😘👍🎾🙏

  2. From Twitter:

    Double Career Grand Slam 🙌
Sources at AO2021 confirm that Rafael Nadal’s long-time driver (Iain) & the adorable ballgirl from last year (Anita), have returned to the tournament to support their favourite Spaniard.

    • 👏🙏
I wish I could too……I had a wonderful time with my sister last year at the open. Together we are “Fedal”fans, one of each 😄

  3. Rafa looks happy and seems to be coping with the quarantine well. I just wonder how much notice he’s taking of some of the criticism he’s been getting from certain players about his alleged silence over the quarantine conditions in Melbourne.

      • That’s true and Craig Tiley didn’t help matters by saying it’s just the nature of business that top players get a better deal. That remark was bound to fuel the resentment that already existed.

Let’s hope that by the start of the AO things will have settled down -at least for the duration of the tournament – so that the focus can turn to putting on a decent show.
