Rafael Nadal beats Sebastian Korda to reach Roland Garros QF

Twelve-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal raced into the quarter-finals with a straight-set victory against American qualifier Sebastian Korda. Our champ took the match 6-1 6-1 6-2.

“Sebastian will have a really bright future, such a great player and only 20 years old,” said Rafa, of a player who calls him an inspiration.

“It is a real honour. All of our generation try hard to be passionate, play every single day at our best, and if that is an inspiration for the younger generation, that is good.”

He will face the winner of Alexander Zverev versus Jannik Sinner next.

  1. I pray and hope Rafa wins but I can’t watch. It’s very often that I am just too nervous to watch him play. Today …… whatever little I e seen is certainly not his best but as long as he gets through …….

    VAMOS

    🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

    • 😂 I understand Lorna, try your best, I am trying very hard, nerve racking at some moments 😱 Jannik is so talented, not easy to put away, one more set to go hopefully🤞

BTW you are more accurate than me👍

      • Rafa finally get tested well by Jannik! Rafa made us nervous the first two sets, but I am glad somehow he still managed to win in straight sets🙏

Rest well and then get ready for Diego next Rafa ❤️ Vamos💪

  2. Once again, I can not see the match with Rafael Nadal. I Don’t know why. He is the one tennis player I can not see playing. Can someone help me find a solution, please.

  3. It’s not looking too good for Rafa, I’m afraid. I’m sure he would have preferred Thiem to win instead. Just too bad that D.S won…..it’s a bad omen.

Rafa may just implode against Sinner in order to avoid playing Diego the 2nd time in 3 wks. It would be a huge shame if Rafa were to lose the 2nd time.

Let’s see the unexpected implosion against Sinner.

    But as always…….cheers

  4. Congratulations to Diego – a well deserved victory. So nice to see the genuine friendship and respect on display between both players at the end of the match.

  5. Wow!!! Congrats to Diego Schwartzman with a 5 set victory over Dominic Thiem…
Tremendous accomplishment and now Diego will play in his first Grand Slam semi final of his career…

Late night for Rafa…. Let’s hope he can take him in 3 straight!

    VAMOS RAFA!!!!!!!!

    • Let’s hope the late night won’t be a repeat of the Wimbledon situation where he and Djokovic had the match stopped and had to finish the next day.

  6. What a match, so thrilled for Diego! However I’m less than thrilled about the late start for Rafa. Tomorrow’s schedule is out and Rafa-Jannik isn’t on it, so currently they are expected to play tonight.

  7. Congratulations to Diego👏
Most likely he will meet Rafa next!🤞
Good luck to Rafa against Jannik🍀🎾❤️
