Wimbledon QF: What time does Rafael Nadal play against Sam Querrey?

Rafael Nadal and Sam Querrey will be squaring off for the sixth time in their careers when they battle for a spot in the Wimbledon semifinals on Wednesday.

The head-to-head series stands at 4-1 in favour of Rafa, but the big-serving American won their most recent battle in the 2017 Acapulco final. This will mark the first time they have played each other on grass courts.

If he wins this Wednesday, Rafa will become the first player to qualify for the 2019 ATP Finals.

Date: July 10, 2019

Match time: Rafa is second match on Court One. Around 4 PM local time / 11 AM EDT – New York, Montreal / 4 PM BST – United Kingdom / 5 PM CET – Spain, France, Germany, Italy / Thursday 1 AM AEDT – Melbourne. To convert to your local time, use this website.

Querrey on playing Rafa:

I have never played him here…It’s his least favourite place of the Slams and he’s final-ed it five times. And he’s been rolling through guys. It’s going to be tough. I’m going to have to serve incredibly well, take my chances when I get them, and hopefully I can have a good day out there.

Rafa on playing Querrey (who has beaten Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Dominic Thiem and Anderson at Wimbledon in recent years):

He played the semi-finals in 2017, close match to be in the final. 2017 was an amazing year for him.

When he plays well, he can be very, very dangerous on all surfaces. But of course, on fast surfaces, when he serves with his aggressive game, he is maybe more dangerous.

The 32-year-old American is the only unseeded player in the men’s singles quarterfinals and has thumped down 100 aces so far at this year’s tournament, dropping just one service game and landing 86% of his first serves.

Rafa has faced a total of just seven break points through four matches this tournament. This is the least number of break points faced among the quarter-finalists (Federer faced eight). Rafa saved four of them.

Our champ is bidding to reach his 32nd Grand Slam semifinal and take sole ownership of 3rd place on the all-time list for most Grand Slam men’s singles semifinal appearances, ahead of Jimmy Connors.

He is also bidding to reach his 7th Wimbledon semifinal and go joint-12th on the all-time list for most Wimbledon men’s singles semifinal appearances in the Open Era – alongside Jean Borotra, Ivan Lendl, Andy Murray and James Renshaw.

He is bidding to record his 53rd Wimbledon match-win. By recording his 52nd victory here in the round of 16 this year, he took sole ownership of 8th place on the Open Era list for most Wimbledon men’s singles match-wins.

He has reached his 39th Grand Slam quarterfinal here this year. By reaching the quarterfinals at a major for the 37th time, at the Australian Open this year, Rafa claimed sole ownership of 4th place on the Open Era list for quarterfinal appearances at the Grand Slams, ahead of Andre Agassi.

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!

  1. Say it again Sam, “I FEAR Rafael Nadal.” Good boy.

    CONGRATS RAFA FOR ANOTHER WINNER

    OFF TO THE SEMIFINALS

    RAFAMAZING ROCKS

  2. Rafa’s win today will have a TRIPLE effect:

    1. He will instill FEAR into the heart of Querry who had the audacity to say he “doesn’t fear Rafa.” Make him eat his words Rafa!

    2. Rafa will be in the semifinals.

    3. Rafa will be GUARANTEED a spot in the ATP Finals.

    GOOD LUCK TO RAFA

    RAFAMAZING ROCKS

  3. Rafa on court 1, again as Wimb…. sense of fairplay dictates only one of top 3 seeds to be twice on court one! Might be an unwilled blessing because court 1 has no roof, so let’s hope the weather collaborates.
Please please Rafa eliminate Querrey as fast as possible.
Wamos Rafa you are the best.

    • Court One has a roof!

Djoko was also at Court One twice so it’s only fair that Rafa plays at Court One for the second time.

Fed only played there once, but, I’m hoping Fed plays at Centre Court only until the SF! Thereafter, let it be Rafa at CC in the final against whoever across the net!

  4. Suerte y ánimo para mañana con Querrey necesitaras un buen primero y buen servicio… Estás haciendo un Wimblendon fantástico uno de los mejores de tu carrera… ADELANTE Y SIEMPRE CONTIGO

  5. I’m hoping for the weather to heat up as much as possible!!! That’s what our Rafa likes! Vamos dear one!

  6. Best of Luck & Vamos RAFA!…I I am sure you will win Q F in 3 straight sets and preserve your energy against RF if at all he comes through Nishikori My in gut feeling is You shall meet Nishikori in Semis

  7. rafa what a wimbledon you are having its fantastic… with you all the way….

    • Let’s hope it stays that way. It was showing rain for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday or Wednesday, Thursday and Friday but I don’t remember which.

      • Our champ will come through this one but my problem is that he comes through in tough matches and Loses very next match which will be a very close one this time again… Fingers crossed
Rafa I believe and this is the chance to surpass feddy boy because margins are very less in big 3 now a days

  8. Rafa you can do it. What a wonderful match you played today I couldn’t see much of it but what I saw was sensational!

Look forward to seeing you at the finals on Sunday!
    Love and best wishes

  9. So Querry is next. Rafa should be awarded with two titles at the end of the tournament for the draw he has been dealing with. Even for forth round it was supposed to be cilic , has he not lost earlier. Someone put very fine attention to detail while making these draws. Federer’ first test coming tomorrow in Nishikori. Let’s see what happens……………
No clue how djoker’s side of draw going. But Rafa has to beat querry , fed and the djoker to lift the trophy. Vamos champ💪💪💪

  10. Rafa I’m a 🇺🇸 but you are my favorite player for long time good luck champ you can do it vamossssssssss all the way 👍🎾💪😘❤️👍🎾💪😘❤️👍🎾💪😘❤️👍🎾💪😘❤️👍🎾💪😘❤️🇺🇸🌎

    • It will not be easy, not a type of player Rafa enjoying playing, but…Rafa ,you can do it. Try to do it in 3 sets, please, you need to be fresh for Fed and if posible less tiebreakers, Sam is good in that.
      VAMOS champion and good luck

    • Suerte!!! Para mañna con Querrey.. Necesitas un buen servicio y buen primero con el.. Ánimo estás jugando un winblendo muy muy k yo diria k uno d los mejorez en tu trayecctoria… ADELANTE Y SIEMPRE CONTIGO

  11. Beautiful shots from Rafa. Just keep them coming against Querry and dominate. ALL THE BEST.

    RAFA ROCKS

    • I am little bit worried Margo about Querrey. The guy is serving bombs every match and has also has experience of winning against top players in Wimbledon like Novak and Murray. Nadal needs to serve really well and his return game needs to even better otherwise it can get tough. Fingers crossed.
      Vamos Champ

      • Navdeep, Querry will need more than aces, if that’s what you mean by “bombs”, to beat Rafa. Sorry but I’m not familiar with the tennis meaning of “bombs.”

I couldn’t find much on Querry except he said can’t beat Federer but has won against Rafa and Djokovic in the past. Rafa will NOT give him a second chance for another win over him, especially at Wimby. I hope Rafa teaches him a great lesson in playing “strategic” tennis instead of “wam bam” as Uncle Toni and Rafa put it.

        RAFAMAZING ROCKS

  12. Once again our boy turned it up a notch….. He is playing with such precision, making those down the line shots… creating cross court shots that go right on the line…. He’s serving with power as he raises his level…
    He’s in total command… a beautiful thing to watch…

Sam Querrey has not played anyone at Wimbledon like Rafa and Wednesday, Rafa will unleash the beast once again and send Sam home like those before him as the path to the finals gets clearer and clearer….

Keep chopping wood Rafa….one match at a time!

    VAMOS RAFA!!!

P.S. Nishikori can present a problem for Roger… stay tuned for that one!

    • For the P..F person. if this is Rafa’s page why do you have to mention Roger. Just keep it to yourself and leave Novak and Roger alone.

P.S. Nishikori can present a problem for Roger… stay tuned for that one!

      • Well Taormina… I’m not sure what you mean by the “P.F. person” or do you have a problem typing P.S…..here’s my answer…If you don’t like that “Rafa” who posted on this page at 11:18 pm mentioned Querrey, Nishikori, Roger, and Djoker . and that I put a P.S. on my posting just mentioning Roger’s next match… I’m here to tell you that’s too damn bad…

Every one in this forum was involved in the fact that Rafa’s seed was 3rd and as a result, we all know that
Rafa would have to get through Roger to get to Novak in the finals…
We are all huge tennis fans…Rafa being our heart….
So… that being said… if you have a problem with ANYONE here who “mentions” any of the big 3 in passing, as you said “we should leave Novak and Roger alone”…. I think you need to go on their sites…and stay there…
since you seem to be so protective of them!

  13. Rafa must continue to serve well and keep unfrcedcerrors to a minimum . Querry is playing great so Rafa will need to play better and I expect he will on the main Court . I just hope the match is played outdoors as the weather forecast sounds precarious . Nonetheless Rafa wil! prevail in the By Stage ! Vamos !

      • Rafa played on center court yesterday and Djoker was on court 1. It is expected Wimbledon would pick Federer over Rafa on center court tomorrow………
