Date: 2 September 2017

Match time: Rafa is third on Ashe. Around 3 PM EDT –  New York, Montreal / 8 PM BST – United Kingdom / 9 PM  CET – Spain, France, Germany, Italy / Sunday 5 AM AEDT – Melbourne. To convert to your local time, use this website

Rafa on facing Leo Mayer:

He’s playing well and coming in with confidence. He won in Hamburg a few weeks ago and he’s won two good matches here  Gasquet and Sugita. Sugita was coming here playing well… I need to play better than what I have done, if I want to have chances of success.

Mayer is 0-3 against Rafa, losing most recently in the third round of his 2014 title run at Roland Garros.

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!

Remember to watch Rafa Nadal , so I can learn how to behave on and off the court , and be respectful to those around me.
Fabio 😷 then you will have more of this💰

    • Hahaha!!! very funny namesake.

I laughed that i almost forgot my name.

Uuh, but as always we’d see……………..hmmn

  2. Hello everyone, I’m new to this fabulous rafa forum but I’m die hard rafa fan as you all. Imo rafa is nervous coz he has not won any titles on hard courts in last three years and he desperately wants to win and he understands that this is very good chance coz of draw. We pray to god plz for once help him to win this uso thereafter we will see rafa of old times IMHO. Thanks and best wishes for uso

  3. Good luck today Rafa, I’m sure you will be the victor and hopefully we will see an improvement from you in the opening set. I have to agree with Maria ( snake island ) that I can see a final between Rafa and Shapovalov.
The first time I saw Denis Shapovalov I thought he had traits that reminded me of Rafa , here’s what Mats Wilander thinks:
He is a serious talent. To be 100 per cent honest, you cannot compare Shapovalov to any other youngster. He is a completely different level,” “It’s like watching a combination of [Rafael] Nadal and [Roger] Federer at 18 years old. He has the fire of Nadal and the speed around the court of Nadal and he has the grace of Federer. It’s unbelievable.”

Crikey! What a lethal combination Lol.

    • At least it’s on at a reasonable time today Maria. I’m looking forward to it. C’mon rafa – give us a straight sets win. Please.

      • Hi Susie, yes thank god for that , 8 o’clock is an ideal time to settle down and watch a WIN 🙏 from our Rafa.

      • I feel for you Navdeep, Rafas’s last match was at 2am UK time so I know how you feel , I didn’t bother going to bed on Thursday night , happy to say though the only bags to be seen were those under my eyes and not Rafa packing his to go back to Spain. Enjoy the match anyway Navdeep and hopefully being Sunday you can have a lie in after Rafas’s victory 😴

      • Oh dear Navdeep , looks like Rafas’s match has been delayed until 1.15 am for you in India, better get yourself a strong cup of black coffee pronto☕ Lol

      • Navdeep. Stay strong and as Maria says lots of coffee to stay awake and I would add have lots of cake and biscuits too. Just for the energy!! Enjoy the match when it’s finally on.

      • Match now on at 9.40 UK time as the women’s game has just gone into a third set

  4. Play your best today and enjoy The Big Apple. If you can make it there, you’ll make it anywhere. ‘Come on’, come through for us, New York!!!!!

  5. I am really sorry Jason if intentionally or unintentionally I hurt you….
Thank you so much Margo, Susie , Maria and Rainier for the support and Greetings
See you All on another forum where we can only discuss about Rafa
I will support Rafa through out my life
And one day surely I would meet personally to Rafa for thanking him for giving us great joy and teaching us about passion and determination in life
    Thanks admin
    Thanks all the members here
    Vamosssssss Rafa always

    • I wouldn’t let one person scare you off from this site. Just ignore him and stay with it. Personally I think this site needs more people like you. You are fair minded and balanced and it would be a shame!!

    • Hi Khawartainmoor, I’m with Susie it just best to ignore some comments , I have certainly learnt that overtime. Keep your welcomed posts coming.

    • Hi khawartaimoor,

If anyone should leave this site, you certainly are not the one.

WAMOS WAMOS WAMOS Rafa please stop thinking of other players. No one else has come even close to your success in the months since your 10th victory in the tournament of Monte Carlo. Count since then….

    • @khawartaimoor,
You were not alone. I, along with others, voiced displeasure about comments made to you. Please reconsider your decision to leave.

      RAFA ROCKS THE USA

  6. This is the sort of match we should be wary of… player like Mayer will come into this match thinking he should swing at every ball as if his life depended on it.

If Rafa keeps his head together, he should win this in straight sets. Rafa has been playing at 60-70% so far, not that he actually is limiting himself, but for some reason his entire game is not coming together perfectly.

Rafa is due a 90% match, maybe the one today. And Mayer will be in big trouble. Get it done champ, send him back home to eat some nice Argentina steak!!

  7. Dear Rafa,
We understand your nerves, its normal!
You have to play free and try to be less tense
Your mindset has to be different ‘I’am going to play and win this match! No matter who’s the opponent! That’s the way you have to think!😍

  8. Rafa, I can’t let you play without having wished you a great match. You are able to do it in three sets but, if not, I will take any win.

Hopefully he’s not energized as he’s also playing doubles. It’s up to you to keep him from reaching the singles QF.

Please stop doubting yourself because so many of us know the on-court damage you can do.

    RAFA ROCKS THE US OPEN

  9. wow if we start worring about leonardo mayer then something is wrong. I truly believe think that its going to be a 4 setter or five setter. I dont trust rafa enough to do it in three. Remember the chance him of winning the us open is base on the draw so great. All the competitors are basically out even cilic. If he screw this one then i dont know

The only thing standing in the way between nadal and the cup are his nerves. I expect federer loss against feliciano lopez. Nadal can almost smell the trophy

    • No, Mjus Dennis ”the Menace” Shapovalov is the greatest threat to Rafa winning the US Open 2017! If Rafa and Rog should meet in the semis, Rafa would triumph. But Rafa vs Dennis………

Go get my good, old Aunt Maria’s prediction and see for yourself.

      But as always, we’d see…………………..hmmn

  10. I almost died during the last match with T Daniels last night. It wasn’t the Rafa I know but thank God he snapped out of it and kicked ass.
Have a great game tomorrow! Vamos Rafa!

  11. Rafa stay calm and keep believing you still have that “it” to beat them. Not because they’re young and hit so hard and fast that they can beat you just like that. You still have that power to excel. Be strongly confident. All the best of good luck. Keep that rank World #1 for as long as you can.
    Vamos Rafa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  12. Rafa just as above, nothing to lose if you just go for it,

    love and prayers,

    AlaineXXSydneyXXAustraliaXX
