- Seedings announced for 2015 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank (via Rogers Cup)
World No. 1s Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams, both three-time Rogers Cup champions, will sit at the top of their respective draws, with Djokovic in Montreal and Williams in Toronto. … Other top seeds to look for in Montreal include three-time winner Rafael Nadal at No. 8, defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at No. 11, recent French Open victor Stan Wawrinka at No. 3, and Japanese star Kei Nishikori at No. 4.
The official draw for Rogers Cup Montreal will take place at Fairmont Queen Elizabeth on Friday August 7 at 5:00 p.m.
One of the two tournament wildcards has been given to the Spanish team of Rafael Nadal and Fernando Verdasco. Nadal has nine ATP doubles titles to his credit, including Doha earlier this year.
Nadal has always hit his first serve more safely than the usual ATP player, content to use it to set up his forehand. But his best hard-court campaigns have been boosted by a big first serve. Against tougher competition on the summer’s faster courts, he’ll need bigger serving than he delivered in Hamburg.
Two-time US Open champion Rafael Nadal is returning to Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day for the seventh time, having first participated in 2005. Currently ranked No. 9 in the world, Nadal has won a staggering 14 Grand Slam titles throughout his career, including the 2010 and 2013 US Open.
Elliot Moberg’s mother Anna wrote to us: “My son is the ultimate Rafa fan. So when he was asked to star in a commercial for his tennis club, pretending to be Rafa, the answer was a sure yes.”

in fact Rafa will be seeded n.7 in Montreal because both Roger and David Ferrer withdrew. Let’s hope he is a lil bit lucky with the draw 😉
Based on his current form, I think Rafa can reach the semi’s in Montreal if he gets a FAVORABLE draw. Otherwise, he’ll be gone by Friday. His chances of winning the tourney are somewhere between slim and none, and Slim just left town.
ps dear Rafa fans, I posted the earlier message re: live stream viewing, not realizing that nick was going to be playing w Rafa…:( 🙁 – bummer!!!!!
If I may in respond to other fans wondering about this odd combination, bringing in nick for the exhibition match…. Firstly, I do not blame tennis fans & folks who no longer wish to buy tickets to attend this match live in nyc….totally understandable……… I think j mac has a flare for stirring drama & disharmony…. Whilst I am disappointed w his poor tactics, and sense a concern for Rafa to have to deal w such an unpleasant player as nick, I am not at all surprised j mac is screwing this potentially rewarding benefit match…. I am not going to go either…..
Lets recall he had asked Rafa to play a long while ago, securing Rafa’s willingness to participate, and it appears rather odd that nick’s name came up only yesterday, being publicly announced ….especially right after RAFA won the 500 Clay title…. in short, I do not trust this whole putting together or organization of the exhibition by j mac , and will not be at all surprise if there is a very low turn out….. something does not feel right about j mac choice…..as another fan wrote yesterday, Rafa usually plays exhibition matches w only friends or folks he respects & likes….
Rafa Nadal and Maria Sharapova:)))- sweet!:)))
Dear Rafa fans….. Rafa’s last exhibition game was carried by live streaming…..and we were able to watch the entire match live….. to watch the NYC 8-26th match,
1. type ” live stream tennis”
2. click on Nadal’s match….
3. open one of the links…. (usually there are at least 2 to 4 links , some work better than others)
4. simply wait for all the ads to close & then the match will appear on the screen…..
hope it works well for you!!! : )
VAMOS DEAR RAFA!!!!!!!!!! : )
Rafa is just the best <3 <3 <3
