Rafael Nadal stayed on course to win a third Stuttgart title after a three‑sets win over Bernard Tomic in the quarter‑finals of the Mercedes Cup. He will next face Gael Monfils, who beat Philipp Kohlschreiber 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 in almost two hours.
After the match, Rafa said: “It’s a great victory for me. It was a good match, I played better than yesterday and I’m very happy to be in the semi-finals in Stuttgart.”
