Rafael Nadal has extended his condolences to Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes’s family after his tragic death this week. Our champ posted on Twitter:
The South Australia shotmaker collapsed on the field, despite wearing a batting helmet, after being struck by a bouncer from New South Wales paceman Sean Abbott during a Sheffield Shield match in Sydney. He underwent emergency surgery, but he never regained consciousness. Hughes’s funeral will be on Wednesday, and Australia’s first Test against India will not start the following day as it had been scheduled to do.
What a sad way to die! So sweet of Rafa to pay tribute to Phillip Hughes family and loved ones! Rafa a gentleman of class and compassion!
All the best to his family.
