Rafael Nadal will play his first match at the Swiss Indoors Basel against Simone Bolelli, who is currently ranked No. 77 in the world.

“It’s going to be one of the most dangerous first rounds in a 500 tournament that I’ve played in a long time. I am not 100 per cent sure what is going to happen tomorrow. I haven’t practised well enough or enough times. My body feels more tired than usual when I’m playing,” said Rafa.

  1. I too completely agree with Mitch. Anti biotics are good only when there is no other way out. During the tournament in Shanghai, and maybe a bit later until the inflamation was a bit better – but after that it would have been better to have been operated. Rafa seems to have often had hard core treatment – good for some things, but now he has been weakened. This is not good for his body. Conventional medicine has terrible side effects and sometimes is not absolutely necessary. Believe me, I’m talking from personal experience.

Rafa has to now seriously rejuvenate and heal his body – even if he has to take more time off. Otherwise there could be dire consequences. I’m an ardent Rafa fan and always want him to win especially against Nole and Roger but where the body is concerned, I feel Djokovic has a good approach. He seems to be doing everything to protect his body from within and strengthen it.

Rafa all of us fans would like to see you play for years more but to remain healthy and fit at the same time. I really wish you all the best and hope everything works out well and for the best. Take care. Vamos!!!

  2. 1. When/Where did you all see him looking any different than usual?

    2. The time should be corrected to 12:30 PM for EDT.

  3. Rafa does not look well. He looks sick. It must be the antibiotics he’s taking. They weaken his entire body. He said that some of his previous injuries occurred when he was on antibiotics. God forbid he suffers another injury this week that carries over to the Australian Open. I don’t know what he’s trying to prove by putting off the appendectomy to play these last few tournaments of the year in such a compromised physical condition. It makes no sense at all. Nonetheless, I wish him the best. VAMOS!!!
